I saw a billboard about this:

ONLY THE LAW BREAKING — NOT THE LAW ABIDING — SHOULD BE LOOKING OVER THEIR SHOULDER IN FEAR. CEASEFIRE VIRGINIA WILL WORK TO KEEP VIOLENT, REPEAT OFFENDERS BEHIND BARS, PROTECTING OUR COMMUNITIES AND KEEPING OUR FAMILIES SAFE.

~ Attorney General Jason Miyares

In response to the urgent need for reducing gun violence and addressing the pressing issue of violent crime in Virginia, the Ceasefire Virginia initiative has been developed. Spearheaded by Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares, this initiative brings together a unified effort from government officials, law enforcement, and community leaders to reduce violent crime and protect our communities. The initiative focuses on reducing the illegal use of guns to commit crimes through a comprehensive approach that combines prosecution and community intervention, with a specific emphasis on targeting serious repeat offenders in Virginia’s highest crime areas.

Recognizing the significance of this issue, Virginia’s General Assembly has allocated an initial $5 million toward the Ceasefire Virginia initiative. This investment enables Virginia to strengthen its capabilities in tackling violence, supported by the appointment of cross-designated assistant attorneys general and coordinators.

Ceasefire Virginia employs a strategic approach, targeting the reoffending violent offenders in our community who are responsible for the majority of our violent crimes. Valuable intelligence is received from various sources, including the public, law enforcement agencies, criminologists, and expert analysts.

They did something like this 20+ years ago called Project Exile. Basically, it was where prohibited persons got a fiver in Club Fed somewhere across the country. Allegedly, it worked at least somewhat. I noted that this got about $5M. I wonder if Exile got a dole which ran out, and I wonder how long this program will last.

Thanks for posting that, Wat.

It goes a lot further than simple thoughts and prayers and is way more effective than having NRA rallies nearby after a school shooting.

👍

WDS PSA FYI:

Inexorably, the following occurs:

Step #1: hate Wat for Wat's being Wat
Step #2: develop Wat Derangement Syndrome
Step #3: start construction of a malignant tumor to memorialize the hate
Step #4: by itself, the tumor will metastasize and migrate to the effected ass and become ass cancer.
Step #5: there will be, insh'Allah, years of pain and suffering.
Step #6: Allah will collect the sufferer at time of death and deposit him/her in the hottest corner of Islamic Hell, where the fires burn hotter, the torture is more painful, and Eternity lasts a bit longer.

Meanwhile, Wat will merrily pursue Living the Good Life as Allah's Favorite, buying more land and guns and helping the worthy and avoiding the unworthy and paying no attention to the hated-filled ass cancer sufferers. Comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable.

Because things have a way of not working out the way that Litlibs would have us believe.

Allah is Merciful . . . .

Wat is a pudgy little trumptard cat lady who posts memes all day and tries to fuck geriatric trannies. Wat is a loser of epic proportions.

I'm threading the muzzle of the 25-06 project so I ordered a thread protector to, well, protect the threads. The protector arrived yesterday and the package that contains it has a state of California health warning about cancer, birth defects, etc. The product is, in effect, nothing more than a big stainless steel nut.

Maybe just get a couple of nuts from the hardware store next time.

I signed up for a welding class because it's a trick I never learned. I'll become able to bend bolts, and that might be handy.
