Wanted In More Ways Than One (Closed for raiguy)

Tay chuckled, and then looked at the girl next to him and the two animals on their laps. "I'm not sure that life can much better than this. I have the girl I love and the pups I adore around me, so how could it get better?" he said to her, sighing happily.

Gwyn shrugged and laid her head on his shoulder, stilling petting her new friend. "I'm not sure, what would make it better?" she teased softly.

Tay thought about it. "Getting married to you, but we need to get everything sorted out first, and then we can do that after," he said matter-of-factly.

Gwyn blushed furiously, but she nodded in agreement. "Of course. Got to get my life sorted." She nuzzled into him.

Tay smiled and nodded, before kissing the top of Gwyn's head, petting the pups. "Is everything okay?" he asked her quietly.

"Just kickin' myself, knowing I could have had this life five years ago," Gwyn said softly, looking up at him. She gave a small, sad smile.

Tay shook her gently. "You wouldn't have wanted that life though, not at that time. You needed to get out and experience things to really appreciate this now," he said softly, kissing her again.

Tay nodded. "I could tell you needed to get out, even if I didn't want to admit it. Sometimes we need to run around a bit before we are ready to settle down," he said softly.

Gwyn nodded and nuzzled into him more. "I guess. I don't know, I've always felt bad about it," she said softly

Tay just shrugged. "You did what you thought you had to do. Can't fault you for that," he said quietly, hugging her to him while petting the pups.

"Gwyn shrugged again, still not really happy with herself. She knew that when she left, it struck deep within him. Nash, guessing that his new friend was upset, looked up and licked her face. Giggling now, and upset forgotten, she petted him while he looked at Tay with a satisfied look on his face.

Tay just shook his head at Nash. "He's going to be a right terror when he gets older. He is already good with de-stressing people, but as he gets older....He's going to be able to read humans like they are books," he said, petting Nash, and then Cub, before kissing Gwyn softly.

Gwyn kissed him back, smiling. "He's good for it. Such a sweet puppy aren't you?" She said, looking at Nash as she petted him. "Yes you're such a sweet puppy, good boy."

Tay shook his head, before standing up, spilling Cub out of his lap. "I need to go for a walk. Care to join me? Otherwise I'm gonna get a bit stir crazy," he said, stretching a bit.

"Sure," Gwyn said, gently prying Nash out of her lap before standing. The pup whimpered in sadness. "Miss Gwyn will be right back, unless Mr Tay says you can come," she told him petting the husky while she waited for his answer.

Tay shrugged. "They'll be following us anyways, so I won't say no. They don't always listen to me anyways," he said, sticking his tongue out at Cub, only to get a yelp in response.

"See? Come on, Nash," she beckoned. The pup Gabe a bark of happiness and ran circles around Gwyn. She laughed and hooked arms with her love. "Let's go," she said.

Tay walked with her out the door, not really minding the pups, as he took in the fresh air and the chance to stretch his legs. He didn't like feeling cooped up. It was part of why he had the ranch, and not a home in the city by the precinct.

"Feel good to be up and about, using your muscles and letting your body burn off the excess energy?" he asked, stealing a kiss.

Gwyn kissed him back, giggling. "Well, I don't know about burning off excess energy," she said, "But not being cooped up in a car and being able to stretch? Yeah, that feels good."

Tay nodded. "I'd imagine the driving was getting to you. If the house time was getting to me, I'd hate to think was hours in a car would do to me," he said, shaking his head slowly.

"Yeah, trust me. Not fun. Sleeping was also cramped. And I can't believe that you were the first person to run those plates, I've had that car for a good six months!" Gwyn grinned up at him.

Tay shrugged. "Some cops are lazy, others look at a beautiful woman and decide not to do that. I was just doing my job, and that's what happened. It is what it is, and I'm happy we found each other again," he said, kissing her again.
