Wanted In More Ways Than One (Closed for raiguy)

"Oh, God, um. . . I want the beef lo mein and the shrimp in lobster sauce, with egg rolls," Gwyn said, smiling.

Tay smiled, before quickly greeting the woman who answered the phone. After placing the order and reciting his credit card number from memory, he smiled, before looking at Gwyn. "Time to get dressed while we wait for the food, and then we can eat and relax for the rest of the night. Sound good?" he asked, sliding out of bed to walk to his closet.

Gwyn smiled from her spot on the bed. "That sounds good, boo," she said. She stretched in the bed before getting up and walking over to where she had set her new clothes. She picked up a pair of flannel pajamas and put them on, enjoying the feeling of it against her skin.

Tay chuckled as he slipped into a pair of boxer briefs, some athletic shorts, and a tank top. He also needed to run out and check the pups. They hadn't been inside since he wasn't sure how Gwyn would handle them, and he didn't want to freak her out while she was trying to recover. "You sit on the couch. I need to take care of a few of the animals, babydoll," he said, slipping into an old pair of those toe shoes he had been surprised to end up loving, before opening the door and making sure that he had the keys to the utility vehicle.

"Why don't I come with?" Gwyn asked, looking up at him and kissing his cheek. "I'd like to see the horses again, and I know you're hiding something, Tay Jameson."

Tay shrugged sheepishly, happy he had splurged and gotten the four seater with the dump bed. He took Gwyn's hand, walking over, before taking a seat, waiting for her. Once they were in, he headed over the the kennel, before parking, already smiling as he heard the barks. "Normally, the queen of the place is with me wherever I go, except at work, although that might change since I might end up getting out of law enforcement since dad is thinking of retiring soon. But then there's the Newf, the pittie, another husky to go with the "queen", two malamutes, and a walker hound. He looked at Gwyn, blushing. "I went a bit crazy when I got the ranch, and all of these dogs were rescues," he said quietly, slinging a 50 pound bag of food onto his shoulder as he walked down the line, filling up food dishes again, before making another circuit for water.

Gwyn smiled and kissed his cheek when he came back. "You were always the sweetest person when it came to that," she said. She went over to the kennels and soon, the dogs had forgotten the food to examine the new human, and she spent a few moments playing with them, smiling brightly.

Tay chuckled as he saw the dogs drop the food for the girl. Only Cub seemed to be eating, already having passed judgement on Gwyn. "Well, you have the guys, and the girl seems to be approving of you, which means you're good," Tay said, chuckling at how much power Cub had over the other pups.

Gwyn soon disentangled herself from the puppies, and she made her way over to him. She kissed his cheek sweetly. "Come. Let's go eat ourselves," she said.

Tay smiled, before letting Cub out, as well as her mate, Nash. "Sorry, but they have been out of the house long enough, and the others are used to staying out where they have free run of the area. Come on kids, lets go eat," he said, smiling as the pups hopped into the back seat, laying down and waiting for the two humans.

Gwyn hopped eagerly into the truck, petting one of the huskies, who had gotten up to see the new face again. "Hi there, beautiful," she said, petting and scratching underneath the chin. "That's a good puppy, good puppy," she cooed.

Tay nodded at Nash, before starting the vehicle and heading back to the house. It didn't take long, and Tay quickly unloaded the empty food bags, before parking the utility vehicle and escorting Gwyn and the pups into the house. It seemed like perfect timing, as not 5 minutes later, the doorbell rang and the Chinese food arrived. Tay set it on the table, smiling as the pups immediately lay down, knowing the protocol for food, before asking Gwyn, "What would you like to drink?"

"Sweet tea for me, baby," Gwyn said. She smiled as the same puppy from earlier laid down next to her. She petted it a bit, smiling, as she ate with the other hand.

Tay quickly fixed drinks, before smiling at Nash. "Looks like you have a new best friend," he said, petting Cub as she laid down next to him like normal. It would be interesting to see how the dogs acted with Gwyn, since Cub usually followed Tay everywhere. He shrugged to himself, before dishing the food up, groaning happily as he tasted the great orange chicken. "Food good for you?" he asked between bites.

Gwyn smiled. "I do. What's this little cutie called?" she asked, eating her beef lo mein. "And food is fantastic, thank you."

"That's Nash. This pretty girl is Cub. Not very original, but it was the name she responded to right away," he said with a smile, petting his pup. "I'm glad the food is alright. It looks like Nash is your pup now. He has never reacted to another person like he has with you. That works though, since he's Cub's mate," he said, taking a drink of his water.

"Really? He seems like such a sweet boy," Gwyn said, scratching underneath Nash's chin as she ate. She drank her sweet tea. "Aren't you? You're such a such sweet boy."

Tay chuckled, then looked down at Cub. "Your mate is about to be spoiled rotten. If I remember anything about Gwyn and animals, it's that she's more affectionate than I am, which is quite a bit!" he said to his pup, before grinning at finishing of his food.

Gwyn smiled and stuck her tongue out at him, before finishing up her food, discreetly sneaking a bad piece of beef to Nash, petting him and talking to him.

Tay saw the food getting slipped on the sly, and allowed it this time. He normally didn't let things like that happen, but he was happy that Gwyn was smiling, so he was willing to break the rules for her.

Tay cleared the food, boxing what he would put in the fridge, before settling down on the couch and chuckling as Cub climbed onto his lap, before petting her like he knew she wanted.

Gwyn continued to play with Nash, enjoying the new addition to her life. Soon, she crawled up onto the couch and nuzzled next to Tay.

Tay could feel the deep rumble from Cub, but knew that she wasn't bothered with Gwyn so close to him. He sighed, wrapping an arm around Gwyn, before kissing her. "I feel like we have our family here, the kids around us, and us happy on the couch, content," he said, chuckling softly.

Gwyn chuckled with him. "It is a bit like that, ain't it?" she said. She beckoned Nash up to her, and he came up and laid his head down in her lap. "That's a good boy," she said, patting his head affectionately.
