Wanted In More Ways Than One (Closed for raiguy)

Gwyn laughed as well. "And some guy thought that we were hosting a party for someone with a bunch of Burger King, and you're like, 'No, sir, I'm eating this all by myself'. The look on his face was priceless! And then there was that woman who told us that we need Jesus, and gave us all those pamphlets!"

"Yeah, and they just got thrown away. It was a fun trip, that's for sure. The guy ended up reducing the cost as well, when he realized we were as high as he was. The lady just looked at him with disgust, but then we all just laughed at her. It was a great night. Not to mention the sex afterwords was amazing!" He said, before smiling sadly. "I can't smoke now though. I'm a cop, and even if I thought about it, the drug tests are always random, and until Texas makes it legal, not gonna happen," he said slowly.

Gwyn nodded. "I won't smoke in your house then," she said. "There is some pot with my stash, but that's to calm my nerves and such. It's pure Colombian pot, worth quite a pretty penny. Now, imagine being high, but having to eat out of the Dumpsters. And you wonder how I got thin." She grinned. "By the way, the tests aren't random. Your police department conducts them every 23 days. They say they're random so you'll get scared and not do drugs. You had a piss test a couple of days ago."

Tay just shook his head. "And how do you know this? Have you been stalking me?" He said with a smile. She was right though. He knew he could if he really wanted it, and it was actually a reason why he kept his hair short. He resume paying attention to the road, before smiling as they pulled into the supercenter. "Let's get what you need. I need some more work stuff from the feed supply store, so we can also get you stuff from there if you want," he said, before parking and sliding out of the seat, offering his hand.

"Not stalking, per se. I happened in on the police department when I was in disguise that day. It's always a good thing to do in crime, you see. Your police department is very well organized, actually, for being rather small. I kind of recognized you, but didn't fully. You asked me if I was alright, and I said something about I think I was being stalked. But before you could take my report, your C.O. whisked you away for your piss test, and I was gone when you came back." Gwyn grinned and took his hand. "Sounds good to me," she said, when he said what he needed to do.

Tay just chuckled. "You looked familiar. Even though the hair was different, your face just looked like I knew it. It's nice that you could see the patterns in my station though. And yeah, we pride ourselves on organization. We also have one of the best arrest rates, as well as lowest shooting rates. But when we do have to pull our weapons..." Tay trailed off quietly as they walked into the store. He followed Gwyn to the clothing, and then stood and waited, gently pushing her into the clothing racks.

Gwyn slowly made her way to the clothing racks after Tay gave a little nudge toward them. She browsed among them, finding some baggy shorts and T-shirts, to hide her thin frame and to be comfortable in. She also made her way and found a couple of nice suits and dresses that were a bit big on her, but she knew that once she's been eating full meals regularly, she'll fit them. Plus, for now, they'll disguise her broken ribs and her malnourished body.

It felt strange, shopping like a normal person, maybe a college student who was starting to look for a job and go out into the real world. She didn't even know what she would want to study at college. This life of crime is the only thing she knew. She had done her wandering, and it got her into trouble. Huge trouble.

Murderer.

That word haunted her deeply. She didn't want to kill Adrian. She did what she had to. But when she saw the papers four days later, after seeing the cartel, and seeing that they were painting her as a murderer, it broke her heart. She saved her life, because she was proud and had enough; they painted her as a cold blooded murderer who hated the man she was going to marry.

She could handle the other labels the media and authorities have given to her. Arsonist. Drug seller. Cartel bitch. Thief. Fraud. But murderer tore through her soul like a white hot knife.

She came out of the dressing room, wearing Tay's clothes, the new clothes she wanted to buy over her arm, her eyes glistening.

Tay immediately saw Gwyn's eyes glistening. He stepped up and hugged her, holding her softly and letting her know that he was there for her, and wouldn't let anything happen to her. He stepped back, before taking her hand and pulling her after him to the registers. He quickly paid for everything, before walking with her out to his truck.

After putting everything up, he turned to her, tilting her face up to his. "Are you okay? You know I'm here, and if you need me for anything, I will help you if I can," he said, before opening the door for her to climb into the truck. He quickly followed, before driving them over to the feed store.

He parked, before taking Gwyn's hand and walking with her into the store. "Go pick out jeans, boots, and some work shirts. That way you can help with the horses, and maybe even ride them," he said with a grin, as he went to order some feed, and pick up some other things like gloves, boots, and another pair of jeans.

Gwyn smiled, seeing that Tay was cheering her up. She was nervous about being around animals again, but she did as he said, picking out a few jeans, shirts, and a pair of boots as well as some gloves. She knew horse riding was good therapy.

Tay moved around the store, before grabbing the feed bags that were brought out and hefting them to his shoulders. He quickly dropped them on the flatbed of his truck, before repeating the process once more.

He came back into the store, before grabbing what else he needed and moved to find Gwyn. Once he found her he smiled. "Ready to check out?" He asked.

Gwyn smiled. "Sure am," she said, handing him the clothes. "I bought everything a couple sizes bigger, just 'cause we know I'm going to fill out again," she explained.

Tay nodded, before quickly moving to pay for everything. He smiled again and then looked at her. "You already look so different. You're happier, more full of life," he said happily.

Gwyn chuckled. "I do feel a bit better," she confessed. "I guess it's amazing about what something as simple as clothes shopping can do to a person."

Tay nodded. "Sometimes you just need that pick me up to help let you come down from what you've been through," he said, before taking her hand and walking out to his truck.

Tay chuckled. "You suppose? Is that why you seem so relaxed now, like you could take on anything?" he asked with a smile, depositing the rest of their purchases in the bed of the truck, before opening Gwyn's door and then closing it after she got in, before moving around and getting into the driver's side. He started the truck up, before turning and heading back towards home.

Gwyn chuckled and smiled. "I feel relaxed but I don't think so," she said. "So what are we doing at home?"

Tay shrugged. "Probably watch movies and nap, make sure you get better," he said, paying attention to the road.

Tay quickly looked over at his passenger, having heard the yawn. He smiled as he saw her curl up in the seat. It reminded him of those long trips to the lake house his parents owned, where she would fall asleep, and he would carry her into the house, before snuggling up to her and falling asleep with her. He shook his head quickly, remembering that they weren't dating anymore, and he needed to start being more careful because he was still head over heels in love with Gwyn.

Gwyn fell asleep but her mind was swirling. She missed Tay. She still loved him.

But he didn't deserve her. Hell no. He deserved better. Way better than her. She broke his heart more than her own when they broke up. And it wasn't even for a good reason. She was a scared little cunt. That was it. That was the only reason.

Besides, he couldn't still love her after all this time. Not after what she did.

She didn't even realize that her sleep was stained with tears.

Tay watched what was going on with Gwyn in silence. He could tell more was going on than she was letting on, but it appeared that she was battling it while she was asleep. He just sighed as he continued to drive towards home.

Once he was parked, he chuckled, before quietly moving around to carry Gwyn into the house, before depositing her on his bed softly. He moved back to the truck, unloading everything quickly and quietly, before sliding in behind her, to hold her and be close when she woke up.

Gwyn woke up the next morning and found herself in bed, Tay's arms around her. She smiled softly and laid there with him.

Tay noticed that Gwyn was up, before smiling and sighing softly. "Good morning. Did you sleep well?" he asked quietly.
