On what site?

I missed this! I didn't realise he'd been back.

Looks like he didn't take on board my (many) suggested alterations. Ho hum, some people are beyond help, I guess.

Keep at it, Juan! And, don't forget, if you need someone to edit your stuff, with a fair, but critical eye, you know what to do. Yes, that's right... RTFM!

P.S. You are taking the piss, aren't you?

The one they give you a ten vote if you can spell your name... and can prove you have more than two brain cells... but less than three. I've surveyed such sites with a view to posting on one, but even I couldn't sink to their required level so had to abandon it.

This is a very clever piss take indeed Lou... not clever in style or mental agility, but clever in resisting the urge to come out, and thus continuing to wind everyone up. My big gripe is still that they accepted his crap story on Lit, standards have sunk some.

Uh, Pop, this Lee as in bearlee not Juan as in juanjsojr. I may be operating on less than three brain cells according to quite a few people, but I was just asking Juan which site HIS story was on where he got a 7 something rating out of 10 because it didn't seem possible and I wanted to check and see if it was really true. My stuff may be crap, but for some reason they still accept it on Lit:D

I can't help wondering how Juan's story got accepted on Lit. Never mind that it was crap, how did it get accepted with all the misspellings and other errors? He said it had been edited but that is one editor I will avoid. Actually, I have never had anything edited, except by myself.

Of course, the fact that it was crap would have been reason enough to reject it, even after all the errors had been corrected.

Seven out of ten would equal a rating of 3.5 on this site. I have one story rated that low and some others not much above it. It is certainly not a rating I would strive to achieve.

Wow, never thought of it that way. His story was 2.95 when he first started this thread although the voting has been turned off now. 7 something sounded pretty good until you put in this perspective-and Pop, this is bearlee again, not Juan:)

I didn't know you could look at someone else's vote average unless it's in a top list. How do you do that?

I just looked one of your scores up to make sure I could explain in my own feeble way. I picked the Dawn story of course. Go to the bio page of anyone that has stories. Pick the story and click it up. At the top of the page will be a really small link to the category, in this case nonconsent/reluctance. Click it and it takes you the entire category where all stories are listed alphabetically. Find the story and the score on the story be there on the second line right after the author's name(unless the voting is turned off it'll just have "xxx"). Won't be as up to date on newer stories as a panel page but it should be close. Or, a shortcut, right next to the title is the category and just click it and of course remember the title. For example, your story Ginger under group sex is something like 4.63 or 4.64(I forget now). The story has been out for awhile so it's probably about the same now since there probably are very few votes coming in anymore. Damn, I think I explained that right.:)

So, before Juan turned off his voting on the story, I looked and it was 2.95.

I agree with lucky.

Not that it matters, but someone may be playing a game of hide and seek. If they are, they have likely left clues in the name. I find the "jso" and "jr" parts interesting.

But, as Dennis Miller used to say, "That is just my opinion. I could be wrong."

You are implying, I guess that "juan" is actually some regular who has registered under that name and posted a crappy story and some bigoted posts just to pull our legs. It could be but I have my doubts. If it is, we will probably find out on Thursday.

If this is somebody pulling our collective legs, he has gone to a lot of trouble and generated a lot of dislike for himself. I would think that somebody doing this as a joke would have written something in a Bill Dana-like dialect but not said or done anything really hateful like Juan has done. That way, on April Fools Day, he would be able to come out and have his laugh at our expense. That would actually be a funny joke but there is nothing funny about what Juan has been doing.

You are too modest. Your instructions are very clear.

The functionality is sort of obscure, but simple enough, once someone explains it.

Thank you very much! :rose:

P.S. Juan received a 2.95, indicating his story is average? If that story is average, Literotica is going to hell in a handbasket.

Rather than believe that, I'll attribute it to people being nice.

I don't know, I think I read on here somewhere by KillerMuffin the average story score is something like 4.12. Could be wrong about that. Plus, even on this thread somebody(may have been you but I'm too tired to search for it now) doesn't even vote anymore unless they intend to give a 4 or 5. Maybe alot of people feel that way and non-authors vote, when they do, based on different criteria I'm sure. Just like when Pop was thinking I was Juan I guess:( , the fact is alot of the stuff I write is probably crap but it scores pretty well. Somebody gets off and if they vote, I'm guessing they tend to vote higher and if they aren't getting off they probably don't even finish it and no vote. The only semi-quality story I'm ever going to have is my next one which is going to be non-erotic, and even that may be quality stuff but only to me.

But, Juan's story probably shouldn't have made it on the site. I know of people that have had stories rejected because of spelling, etc. But Laurel, and I guess others, can't read each story all the way through. No one person or small group of people would have the time to do it.

Anyway, glad the explanation worked for you and now I should give Dawn Pick-up a 5 just for the title alone;)

That is the implication. I never claimed to be sure, but have read various posts on several different threads that leads me to believe it is highly plausible. The language and overall tone of each post has varied drastically and that suggests that someone is playing around, or highly unstable. (Both quite possible.)

A lot of trouble, you say? Well, yeah! But if you consider the amount of time some people spend here, I don't think it's that far-fetched. The great thing about anonymity is that you never have to be held accountable.

What if the person began everything as a joke and never expected it to go this far? If this is the case then, April Fools or not, they never have to own up to the fact that they enjoyed jerking every one around and riling folks up.

If it is a regular, it would not be difficult at all to play such a prank. Nor would it ever tarnish their name here, if things did go too far. They just never have to fess up.

I don't think it's that big a deal if it was a prank. The overwhelming reaction here was that such opinions are ridiculous and not at all well thought of. Any regular here would automatically know this and we've all given juan plenty of ammo to keep up the ruse.

If juan is his own entity and not a cloaked regular, then he is a glutton for punishment. He's been ripped up one side and down the next here, which suggests to me one of two things.

1) He's an idiot.
2) He's intelligent and really enjoying everyone's frenzied attacks.

Why else would he keep coming back? He hasn't said anything new since the first dadgum post and this thread is nearing the 150 mark IIRC. At any rate, I couldn't care less and have enjoyed some of the thoughts that've come about here (esp. Lou's crit). It's rare that people in the AH take to flaming someone as a group, and this has been a true roast.

I have to admit you are right. This could have been a hoax that got out of hand. If somebody did such a thing, there would have been no point in being Mr. Vanilla and saying ordinary things. The hoaxer would have to have said outrageous things to stir people up. If s/he were to come on as an author, it would have to be a really crappy story to gain notoriety. The broken English might help to cover up a writing style. The timing might indicate that also, since April Fool's Day is in three days.

If that is the case, though, I don't think we'll ever know. The hoaxer would probably decide things have gotten out of hand and drop out of sight. Laurel could probably track the guy down but I doubt if she would since all he has done is to make some bigoted remarks and cast some troll-like votes. Possibly Laurel is even in on it which would explain how that crappy story got posted.

Anyhow, the whole thing has been fun so far, and it's interesting to see the virtual unanimity on AH.

If Juan is actually some AH regular, I don't think he will own up to it now after all the things that have been said.

My somewhat tongue in cheek (a favorite position, incidentally) comment about Juan's score being "average" was a reference to its position half-way between 1 (really sucks) and 5 (excellent) on the Literotica scale, rather than its relation to the Literotica average.

Yes, I was the one who said I only vote if I'm going to give a 4 or 5 on this thread, but I've heard the same thing from other authors. I suspect a lot of people do that, which would explain an average story score of 4.12.

My stories get reasonable scores, although not many "H" scores. I'm somewhat bemused by the wildly varying number of views and votes between my stories, but I don't dwell on it. A fair number of readers enjoy my stuff and I'm happy with that.

Although many of the stories on the top lists are excellent, others just seem like formula stuff with no imagination or real eroticism to me. Still, they obviously appeal to a lot of people.

I've actually seen a number of Literotica stories as bad or worse than Juan's. Usually, I just yawn and go looking for something better. By being such an obnoxious little prick, Juan has gotten lots more attention paid to his story than its ilk usually receive. I hope he's happy with the price.

I'd prefer to get a high score strictly on a story's merits, but I'll take a 5 however I can get it. By the way, "Ginger and the Twin Peaks" mentions a character named Dawn, although she doesn't actually appear. ;)

:D Damn, the five on those didn't actually appear on those;) I don't know, it's hard sometimes to maintain a score and I hate even putting it on here because people may go in and slam it, but I 've noticed whenever my Dawn does an audio it does really great and then bang! Her latest one was around 4.80 yesterday afternoon and today, really just a string of 3s and a 2(with a couple of 5s thrown in) and it's 4.63 on our panel. Weird how that seems to happen each time she does one.

Daughter is having surgery right now but I guess I'll have to go in and check the Dawn stories you have.

The first six votes for the final chapter of "Ginger and the Twin Peaks" were all 5s. Obviously, my entire fan club voted en masse. After that, the score dropped quickly, although it's currently hanging on to 4.50 by its teeth. :p

I've quit trying to understand voting behavior.

I hope your daughter's doing okay. Give her a :rose: from the Lit gang.
