Can someone please explain how the Voting Status works.

The Voting Status for all of my postings has been turned on since submitted. Recently I shut off a couple of them to see what happened. Every place I could find where the voting is usually displayed turned to x.xx. I turned them both back on and the old scores returned.

Have I learned all there is to know about this option or is there more?

Nope, that's it. If you shut the voting off, your score is not longer displayed and readers can no longer vote on your stories. Same with comments.

I wonder, is there a time frame that your original vote and scores will not return?

While voting is turned off, you're also removed from any location such as toplists that highlights scores/votes.

Or at least, that's the way it's supposed to work, from what I understand. Some things such as the H remain while voting is turned off, if you had scored highly enough to pick one up. While I'm sure that's an oversight, it's been reported multiple times, and still happens.

It also permanently disqualifies the story from contests, although that's pretty much irrelevant since the monthly and yearly contests have been dead for a long time now, and I'd be surprised if they restarted.

Whether you're allowed to qualify for toplists and such after turning voting back on, I don't know. I've never experimented with it, and never heard anyone talking about it.

I forgot about those, but I wasn't on any of them anyway, at least I don't think I was.
