AVG has a good virus scan that is free. It does an adequate job of catching and containing most viruses. It is a free down load, and it will check your computer once a day, or as often as you would like.

I am in need of some help. My brother got a worm on his pc...and it just suddenly dawned on my...(hello!) that maybe I had better try and run some sort of scanner thingy to see if my Laptop is as clean as i would like to think so.

The problem is this: I don't know how to do this....some guy installed a version of McAfee about 2 or so years back when i was at my old college...needless to say its been 2 or so years since i thought about it...I have been getting alot of BSD...(blue screens of death) lately is this normal?

I dunno maybe I am freaking out over nothing, but I just want to be safe....

I had a worm once W32Klez... There is a new worm virus that attaches to passcodes....Can infect such links as bank codes etc... Norton AV... and keep it up dated..and back up your files

I ran the scan, and my PC has a clean bill of health...no major problems...but I did run defragmenting disk thingy like it said...


I feel better now.

Also.. you need to think about updating your McAfee or buying a new one.. ASAP.
