I'm tempted to think he fit many of the criteria for anti-social personality disorder or narcissistic personality disorder. If that's the case, no amount of rationalization regarding community, family, society, etc. will come close to touching the hows and whys of this person's behavior. I watched an interesting report last night that indicated this person was known as "The Question Mark Kid" because on the first day of classes when a roll sheet was passed around for students to write in their names, he placed a question mark beside his. He also refused to stand up and introduce himself to the class like the rest of his peers, and was said to rarely, if ever, participate verbally or physically in any way beyond attendance. The stalking also lends itself to this disorder, not to mention the seeming obsession with morbidity this young man allegedly had and the seeming disregard or lack of empathy for others.cumallday said:I've never suffered from depression myself nor do I personally know anyone who has. I do know that many depressions end in suicide. If you're an angry loner, full of testosterone who externalizes blame and has a terrible time coping with failure what could be worse than the mental dissaray of a depression. Worse still, you lack the support and help a community, family and friends offer. You'd have to be crazy to kill all those people for no reason other than right some perceived, externalized wrong. I'm no psychologist and am probably wrong, but I can never get past the fact that these shootings end in suicide.
