So now I have 2 tickets to the Army VS Navy football game on base in West Point.

That means driving back downstate.

Will the game be played in Eisenhower field along the Hudson?

One of the sweetest women I have ever known lived near there. There were no losers in our "games". I still swoon when I think about her black hair and devilish crystal clear blue eyes. She was Polish and had a wonderful sense of humor.
If I had not had to drive over four hours to meet her then there is no telling where that relationship would have gone. It is hard to believe that I was last in touch with her nearly 21 years ago.

Still no power. Temps in mid 80s with feels like high 80s. Mainly monitored Facebook requests for help or info for the village. My new family brought me back BBQ chicken dinner bug enough for 5 meals. I was on a run to take part of my supplies over to Miss J who helps me run the support team. She had evac'd to the special needs shelter across the street from where my folks ended up. They scooted them home ASAP after Irma cleared but she had dang few supplies cause she'd had foot surgery before the storm and told no one. So she's set for a couple of days and I'll check her on Thursday after PT.*

Really tired and sore. But I'm still moving slow but alive.

Good to hear. It could have been a lot worse. Glad you and everyone else made it through. Hope you get power soon.
 
The pole dancers (that's what we call linemen here) are getting power back street by street. I'm happy to say that many people are making sure they have cold Gatorade and are Thanked. Lots of these guys are from Texas.

I'm sitting in the truck to recharge my phone listening to Bob Marley & UB40. It's almost chilly out here at 77 degrees and chainsaws roar in the back ground as the city workers clear downed trees. I see my Marine Doc today at his new house to check in.
 
My friends down there in Tampa have learned the valuable lesson to prep BEFORE hurricane season. Luckily this wasn't the catastrophe they were calling for you all up there. Looks like The Keys and the south got smacked hard.
I did find that the two best things I had after Fran was a chainsaw and a gas Grill. I could cook and make coffee. After the big storms in 2010, I found having a propane camping stove was good too. I had coffee and when My next door neighbor was frazzled she was amazed that I walked over with a cup. So I took her into the house, made her breakfast and got her attitude more positive. She was an older German lady.

Hows things progressing in Texas?


Ox I've got the propane Coleman camp stove from my event stuff. My new family are first responders and have the gas grill, generators, commercial ice machine. He's running them 12 hours during the day to keep everything frozen or cold. I brewed coffee and put it in canning jars but it turns out only 1 of us really lives on coffee. I'm more a Dt Coke girl for my spot of caffeine but It's getting used. I start chicken sitting tonight so I'll have fresh eggs to bring home that can get used.
