Vintage 40 Prime THREE

I have been thinking a lot about my ex wife's sister. I fell for her when she was dating my best friend of that time. She was not beautiful in the conventional sense but things reached the point where I would simply melt when she walked into any room where I was sitting. She could do anything a man could do, was a keen participant in profound discussions about everything from quantum theory to the best sexual techniques, and she had a vulnerability that made me want to just wrap her in my arms and protect her from the evil of the world. They had problems conceiving and I almost had them convinced to let me be their sperm donor. Then he died and my wife and I divorced. She looks like hell these days but I still think about her constantly. If there was even the smallest signal for her then I would be at her door in a flash. Turning off the lights and making love with her in the dark I would finally have what I have longed for throughout the last 40 years.

Been one of those kinds of months the hasn't it??

I'm back from catching trout, caught 3, took the motorcycle up in the mountains.

OK so I need some opinions and you can PM if you prefer.

Here's my quandary....
I've got a couple incredibly smart lady veteran friends who want to help on the moving deposits issue by doing a gofundme or PlumFund thing. It's just been my experience that those things only work for dire medical issues promoted by the media or stupid things like the guy asking for $20 to perfect a pancake recipe.

The shoulder surgery I just had was from snapping & tearing muscles from last Thanksgiving and Christmas taking hams, turkeys and food boxes to some veterans families and the local First Responders for a holiday meal for those on duty. I couldn't get help delivering the items besides my support team windlass who has no business health wise lifting these kinds of heavy things too.

If I can't get help on something that simple during a holiday season. And when I have asked for help when I need it before on other things for myself... Why would the fundraising thing for me work?? Why anyone want to help or invest in me??? I just don't want to waste anyone's time or be a burden. But I've had 2 other ladies I know thru doing the support work who said do it just this week.

Any thoughts???
And please don't be rude.

I have donated through gofundme before and usually not for medical issues but other things that touched my heart. If it is worded properly, focused on what you do for others, people will give back. Sometimes it is easier to give a little money than actually show up to do the work. And any little bit helps you get closer to a new home. I vote go for it! And let me know the link.

Is there a reason why your local VFW or American Legion post hasn't done a fundraiser to help you? There are plenty of able bodied vets around who are financially secure and I would think that they'd be happy to help someone like you who has both physical and financial difficulties.

As for being rude I would have a difficult time manufacturing rudeness toward someone like you.

Faith, hope or charity, take you're pick.

I've heard some negative stuff about money never making it to the person in need on these type of fundraisers so take care. What's unfortunate is the Veteran and Public Safety groups you devoted so much time o aren't stepping up to help you. Even if they can't or won't give you some financial assistance a work detail could be recruited o help with the packing and moving.

I'm not a veteran. I'm just from a support family with 5 Uncles who served. So I grew up knowing what Flag Day was and thar Memorial Day and Veterans Day are different.

1 local cop is helping keep an eye out for a small place. He used to be my community service officer down here and is now a detective near retirement. He's so frustrated over this crack in the system thing too. He sold his rental properties or he'd have put me in somewhere safe he owned.

19 days and not one follow up call from the case manager nurse. I'm guessing that because I'm not 70, 80, or 90 that she decided I'm too young and healthy and a waste of their time regardless of my Medicare and SNP (special needs patient) status. Seems prejudiced to me. Even my Para - Olympics first responders are still special needs.

Maybe I'm crazy but I'm not feeling like laying down and letting them blow me off on this. I have rights too and needs as well as an SNP.

Hey it just occurred to me that I haven't seen any posts by RjThoughts in a while. Is he okay? I miss his dry humor and observations about life.

I'd try the gofund me. They take like 6% but every dollar counts. I'd also hit up teh Patriot guard, and the other Vet groups you work for. Can't hurt.

Heat returns, pollen is up UP, and my arthritis and bone spurs decides that, a day before going to the beach, it's time to say "Hello!"

I guess I won't be driving much!

Sucks getting old!! My shoulders ached so bad yesterday. Hip's giving me the gyp too.

Sexercise does wonders to banish those aches and pains, or at least to provide pleasant distractions from them. Now, if I could just find a highly "motivated" partner...
