Vintage 40 Prime THREE

The smartphone is almost back to the original setup. It was eating batteries like peanuts. So it was a mirror the contents, wipe the phone and reload it back.

The DSN server error got fixed in the evening over the phone by my tech God so I have net now on the laptop. Plus free tethering by Sprint incase there is an issue during Honor Flight season.

The new apartment is livable but not unpacked or set up completely yet. I need to get the event area and living room shifted /set up. AND the art /paint area so I can get some income generating. In the mean time the event staff for the city gave me paperwork to get me officially set up as their volunteer assistant when they need me.

<sigh> I can't get a consistent net coverage here on my side of the house. Trying tethering next or we may have to run a hard line.

Bummer that the Wifi doesn't reach well.
A hard line would be good. Faster too...

I am so tired of the snow and cold temps here this year.
Its been below freezing with snow on the ground since before Christmas and that is not normal.
Looking forward to our temps climbing above freezing tomorrow.
Not looking forward to the flooding that will happen with the fast melting snow when we get the rain that is coming with the warm up but I'm looking forward to the snow being gone!

What happened to the banana belt stuff you all seem to get???

The net issues continue. At first my support team tech God thought we had it with forcing my laptop to search for the Google DNS servers but that only lasted an hour or so. Now there isn't any net past the home server here. I think I'm the only one here that actually uses it and I really don't want to be a pain in the ass for my new family. So I arranged for tethering for my laptop to start next month. That way up or down I still have coverage. I'll get 5 GB for $5 and if I watch what I use to email, here at Lit and my Honor Flight work then I should be ok. The rest like Facebook will have to run off my Android where it's all unlimited. The cable company here just hot sold and everyone seems to be having issues with the new company.

W00T! :nana:
the net is back up on the laptop...this has been nuts like a roller coaster.

The tethering option will start in Feb so things will be more consistent.
I'm not sure how much is my laptop being old (2011) & how much is the house being built to beyond hurricane standards. The walls are about 6 inches thick and concrete so the WiFi being spotting is understandable from that alone. add in the new cable company plus the family not using the net but once in a while compared to those of us who live & work on line and it's been driving me nuts.

BUT as that's all I have to be crazed about in the new place that's AWESOME!!! :)

how's everyone else been?? I've missed you all during this transition.
Once the rest of the unpacking is done I need to take a video walk thru for my Mom to see and then put it on a disc to mail up to her. My Dad still insists his dial up is just fine and it's ALL my fault when I send pictures or video to share things with her and it takes too long to load.
So I take pictures over to CVS and print out then mail to her so she can still see different events or things. If I am lucky I can load it on Facebook and one of my cousins will take their Iphone over to let her see.

The new year has been hectic and I am trying to tread water financially. I have also realized that the relationship that made me so happy for 16 years is over after two years with almost no contact from her. Even though current arrangements take care of all basic necessities of life to the point where I am not even remotely thinking of finding someone to marry and move in with, it would be nice to find a local woman for frequent get togethers.

I gave up on that a long time ago. The guys here can't get off their butts to even help drop off donations at holiday time so there isn't any who are trust worthy enough to give up some of my energy and time to. I need to come first over guys who are lazy users.

I'm doing OK so is the Wife element. I get my DD214 on Monday. Retirement begins the next day. From the Army, now I have to find an adult job.
Glad to see things are going well for you Starry.

June is only 6 months away.

What is going down this time or when she screams more.......

That DD214 just made retirement real!

I'm hanging in there. slowly unpacking, building groceries back up
and dealing with the shoulder not healing like it should.
nothing going too fast at this point

Starry I'd tell you to relax but I know you can't. So, just go slow and don't try to build Rome in a day.

I'm at livable here but as soon as I can get in a couple people able to help me lift the couch on those mover things then I need to flip the living room area and set up the office space. In the bedroom I also need to set up the painting area around the bid sunny window. It's gonna take some help or creative MacGyvering to do. But I did manage to push it getting groceries thus morning and change the sheets on the bed today all before this storm front came thru and has my shoulder locked down.

How's the new house???

It's having its growing pains. But we like it. Gives me something to work on while I wait on the next job.

I can appreciate that. I just got busted for trying to bring in groceries & do about 45 minutes of sorting out he art supplies on Tuesday. As careful as I was I apparently "sprained" something. the rotator cuff & bicep tear isn't healing right. even lifting my cell phone the right way is too much weight with the left arm. So the PT was calling the ortho on Thursday to ask for another MRI.

Sorry to hear that Starry. I know it's hard to keep you down and quiet. Always busy busy busy.

I've been pretty grounded the past couple weeks and been trying to keep the unpacking rolling but low down.
things are livable here but not unpacked. The painting area isn't set nor the living room / kitchen /office area
Even getting groceries or setting my cell on the night stand has been an issue.
the last 2 weekends I've done that & had a spasm /charley horse in the bicep. That sucked big time.

The 2 day snow storm finally stopped, I went out on the road at midnight and got back at 8:30, that was a lot of salt seasoning I put on the pavement.
