Videotaping advice needed!

Hi everyone.

My girlfriend and I have gotten a videocamera to fool around with (or rather on) for awhile, so I wanted all of your advice. Work has kept me busy for the last couple of days so tonight is our first chance to try it out. I've been thinking about it all day, but I have also thought up some questions about it, so maybe anyone who has done this before has some advice?

Should this be something that's planned out (positions, etc..) or just spontaneously? Should it be one long video? Several small ones? Where should it be? Should we pass it off to each other or leave it somewhere?

Any and all advice is much appreciated. I really want this to come out great for, well, the lonely nights if nothing else!

Unfortunately, I don't have any "hands on" experience in this matter but thought I would get the ball rolling anyway. As bad as most "professional" porn is I would start out by not putting my expectations too high. I think it is just going to have to be something you have to play with and tweak. Unless you have some sort of knowledgeable third person taping then you are likely to be disappointed with the results because if you just have the camera set up you are only going to get one view. Of course you can plan this out in detail to make the actual video better but then the actual experience itself is probably going to be less enjoyable. Another option would be to take turns taping each other solo. Whatever you do I would make sure there was plenty of light. I guess the fairest thing to do would be to make more than one video and she could keep some and you could keep some. Have fun.

I agree with sub... If you keep your expectations in check and have fun, its all good. I have experience at videotaping lovemaking with girlfriends in the past and its always been fun. We usually just set up a video camera on a tripod next to the bed and went at it...We were on top of the bed (not under covers) so everything was visible. We tried a number of different positions all within the focal area of the video camera. The results were great; The auto focus worked and the sound recording was great too. It was always fun to take the recorder and hook it up to the TV to watch later. Whenever we did, we always ended up screwing like crazy on the couch while watching. Cum shots are fun to get on tape as well... The most important thing though is to just have fun with it!!!!!

# don't do long videos but instead small durations..from different angles
then edit & join them with Windows Movie maker
[comes free with XP/Vista.. Start>Programs>Accessories>Movie Maker]


you can add custom title, credit, animation/sound effects etc.etc.etc.

Everything went amazingly well. Ended up doing a few smaller ones (5 minutes or so) of different positions and finally a 20-minute deal. Fun times all around. Thanks for the suggestions! I'm hoping this won't be the last of it..

I know you already said you went at it, and it went well (which congrats by the way), but here's my two cents.
I like to set it up ahead of time. Sometimes it's later that day, but sometimes it's several days later that we will actually push record. So it's a little more spontaneous. Plus, looking at the camera set up on the dresser for a couple of days gets me pretty excited.
