Actually, this is very much on-label as it's part of its FDA Approved Indication - 5mg taken daily for signs and symptoms of BPH. I take 5mg daily for this reason as well. Starting dose for ED is 10mg.

Below is from the official Prescribing Insert, and at bottom is a link from the Eli Lilly website.

-INDICATIONS AND USAGE---------------------------

CIALIS® is a phosphodiesterase 5 (PDE5) inhibitor indicated for the treatment of:
• erectile dysfunction (ED) (1.1)
• the signs and symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)

• ED and the signs and symptoms of BPH (ED/BPH) (1.3)

All I had to do was to mention to my cute as a bug's ear, young, female, Vietnamese doctor, that I was interested in trying Viagra. Didn't ask about symptoms at all and wrote me a prescription for 50 mg pills of sildenafil. Said that I could take up to 100 mg at a time. (It's sure cheap too--under a $1 a pill at my local pharmacy.) I have been taking 100 mg, and have no side effects except for a stuffy nose. She seemed pretty open minded as well, because she told me to take it an hour before having sex, then caught herself and realized she didn't know what I was going to use it for, and said take it an hour before you want an erection. If she had asked what I was using it for I would have told her:

I've been getting massages with a 15 minute table shower before the massage. If you are referring to Tamsulosin (FloMax), the side effect that I dislike the most is that the quantity of my cum went way down. It causes muscles to relax so cum ends up going into the bladder instead of out in spurts of glory, which makes orgasm look and feel different. I'll ask my urologist if he's heard of Cialis reducing BPH symptoms the next time I see him, although I suspect he'll keep me on the Tamsulosin.

I’ve tried it a couple of times. I was curious because many of my friends (we’re all between 50-65 y/o) have tried it. It delivered as promised with all the side effects as well. The headache wasn’t worth it. I’m sticking to more natural methods, exercise, diet, pumpkin seed oil.
 
For me works in about 20 min.
Very mild headache, more like sinus pressure. Climax early, recover, than I will last longer and be less sensitive.
 
Sildenafil (generic Viagra). Thirty 100 mg pills for $17 at Costco. Works wonderfully, but I use it mainly to enhance masturbation since the wife is very non-libidinous these days (years). No side effects that I have noticed.
 
How long does the effect go on? I'm 61 here, and there's only so much my heart (and balls) can take. If I have an orgasm, will it chill out?

Understand it only has an effect if you are aroused. It doesn't just give you an erection. Take your dose, if you watch porn or get cozy with your partner, then it's steel. If you take your dose and no arousal, then no steel. If you have an orgasm it subsides. If you and your partner go for round two after a short recovery, you will be quite capable. If there is no round two then....... go to sleep. Go to Rex MD and read the information. They will answer all your questions. Better yet. give them a call. Excellet customer service.
