Viagra (sildenafil) usage

I got a script for generic Cialis about a year ago. I don't always need them, in fact I've only used 5 of them, sometimes cut in half, and indeed it works as advertised.

The side effects are AWFUL. It make me feel like I've been on a 3 day drinking binge, and also give me a headache and a stuffy nose. The effects last for a couple of days. But during that period I can fuck like a teenager. The pills are 10mg. Tred lightly, gents. I've never taken Viagra.

I'd love to hear from any generic Cialis users who've had similar side effects.
I'm currently on a generic Cialis myself, take half a pill every three days. I've not experienced any side effects, at least that I'm aware of, but it has helped in the bedroom since I started.

Asking for advice/info on this here is even dumber then using Dr Google.

If you read the post you'd understand that I was asking for personal experiences, not advice, But as is often the way, people feel the need to spout off on social media without knowing what they're talking about. Not sure what that phenomenon is called, maybe I should ask Google eh?

Hello Gang! So I took a 10mg generic Cialis (tadalafil) last night just after dinner at a lovely restaurant. So far so good. We got home from the restaurant just as it was kicking in, and the wife and I had a good roll in the hay. This morning, I woke up, hardly any side effects at all. A very slight headache and a bit of acid indigestion, but nothing I couldn't ignore. Strange, because if you look at my previous comments in this thread, I've always had very bad side effects.

And finally, this morning I was very , very sensitive and responsive. It was a nice morning.
A few things could explain why fewer side-effects this time...

  • You took a Generic form of Cialis. The FDA allows generics to vary in potency from the original formula of a branded medication by as much as +/- 20%. Plus, generic manufactures can use different inactive ingredients during the manufacturing process. This sounds terrible, but this is why generics are A LOT less costly than the Brand name med - and usually, they work just fine. Read this if interested: generics vs. brand name medications. This is why I usually insist on the Branded medications for myself and my family. When possible, that is. Sometimes, the branded meds are simply too expensive.
  • Your body simply acclimated to the Cialis. Indigestion, acid reflux, and lower back pain are known side effects and all are listed in the Adverse Events section of the Prescribing Information insert included w/ every prescription. ..And they often subside as you get used to the medication.
  • Something you ate increased the uptake of the medication the first time. For example, Grapefruit Juice consumed near the time you take your tadalafil will increase the amount in your bloodstream and can definitely exacerbate side effects. Again, this is mentioned in the Prescribing Information insert.

You asked for people to tell you their experiences and results.

You also asked someone for advice on where you could buy it over the counter.

that's asking for info and advice, as I said.

Also you'll notice i didn't make my comment whilst quoting your original comment. I was merely making a general statement based on the overall discussion on the thread.

Not sure why some people struggle with basic reading comprehension and then spout off on social media but they do.

Maybe I should ask Google why.

As you pointed out, I asked for information, not advice.
Asking where to buy medicines that are available over the counter hardly necessitates a visit to a doctor.
Not sure why some people feel the need to poke their nose into the business of others without offering anything of value, but the internet enables such behaviour. Unless of course you are a doctor and are commenting from a.position of authority and knowledge, which I doubt.

In my case it doesn't take too much to get hard again. Definitely longer than it used to but with sufficient stimulation I can get hard enough to go for another round within an hour or 2.
You can get hard again, and you can count on morning erections, but they often don’t last. Also if u take it on an empty stomach, meaning you last ate 1-3 hours ago. It works great. But in my experience, if you ate recently and take the pill nothing works. Might as well flush them.

So you were asking for advice on how to obtain medication.

I did offer something of value, I opined that this type of forum is not the best place to seek advice on taking medication.

It's a public forum, if you don't like anything I or anyone else has to say then I suggest you chat privately to your medical professional about your ED issues, chat privately with people using DM or block me.

Hi LM, thank you for your input. The 20% allowable potency variation was surprising!

You may want to consult your doctor.
I'm curious about trying Viagra. I don't have difficulty getting or maintaining an erection, I'm just curious about trying to see what happens.
Has anyone experienced this kind of usage (recreational I suppose you might call it). If so, what were the results?
I'm 80 and couldn't always get and maintain an erection. Started taking Sendenafil (Viagra) about a year ago (my urologist, bless her heart, prescribed it when I told her about my ED). I take 60mg, an hour or so before sex (which is mostly solo with porn these days as wife has no interest in sex anymore), and have no problem with erection. I shoot blanks these days, which is great - no mess to clean up, but I do miss a taste of cum now and then. Haven't noticed any side effects.

I'm surprised to see such an abundance of misinformation about this - still going on in 2025!!

Viagra (Sildenafil) and Cialis (Tadalafil) Do NOT make you hard!! They ALLOW you to get hard. They cause otherwise constricted blood vessels to relax and allow more blood to get to where it's needed.

I'm Type 2 Diabetic, overweight and 63 years old (what a catch, I know!!). I don't get anywhere near as hard as I used to and when I do, it's 'unreliable' (slightest distraction and it's 'down scope'!). A lot of it is both psychological and self-fulfilling but general medical practice isn't very good at that end of things so they tend to take the easy way out and give you Viagra.

For me, it was bloody awful!! My Carotid arteries felt like they were on fire and ready to burst and my head felt ready to lift off my shoulders. I felt so bad with it, I honestly can't remember whether or not I got a decent hard-on because all I wated was for the bad feelings to subside.

I now take 'Tadalafil Daily' only it's not daily because you're instructed not to take more than one in each 36 hour period.

It does work quite well though and on the rare occasions (nowadays) when I do actually feel frisky, things work generally as they should, just not as they did when I was 19!

When we were in our thirties one of my wife's friends told her that, if we both took Viagra, sex would be better (something about blood surging to her clit and pussy) - remember this was thirty years ago and we didn't know much about it. To be perfectly honest we didn't notice a huge difference, except the pre-planned nature seemed to turn us both on. We didn't try again.

After our divorce I had a couple of issues staying hard, a friend who is a counsellor suggested it was guilt due to me feeling like I was cheating on my wife, she prescribed Viagra. It definitely enabled me to stay hard, but I suffered from headaches and my partner told me my face was flushed. So I started taking Cialis instead, no more headaches or flushed look, it worked quicker and lasted longer than Viagra. After a few months I stopped taking it and found I no longer had any issue getting and staying hard, so I no longer take it.

And that's exactly how it's supposed to work - just to help you over that 'confidence gap' and to stop you thinking ahead and basically thinking yourself into failure. I'm not there yet...

My wife even has a prescription for a topical version of it to apply to her clit. Works wonders on her too.

Two more things about Viagra. I read about a study where it helps men with dementia, since anything that increases blood flow does that. Just don't tell your doctor about this off-label use.

There are some supposedly organic erection pills available in adult stores that most likely contain Viagra.

Speaking of off label usage, a doctor prescribed a 5 mg daily dose of Cialis for me, to treat symptoms of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH - non-cancerous enlarged prostate). It did make a difference in the frequent (insufficient) urination, as well as enhanced erections. In fairness, a subsequent specialist prescribed another med that was designed for this purpose. I think it works better, but I miss the effect on my hardons.

Those can be dangerous because no one is regulating the source, quality, or dosage.

If you are referring to Tamsulosin (FloMax), the side effect that I dislike the most is that the quantity of my cum went way down. It causes muscles to relax so cum ends up going into the bladder instead of out in spurts of glory, which makes orgasm look and feel different. I'll ask my urologist if he's heard of Cialis reducing BPH symptoms the next time I see him, although I suspect he'll keep me on the Tamsulosin.

Thank you for that. Yes, that's the drug my urologist wanted me to take instead of Cialis. Humorous note: He said (with a smile) "Keep your remaining Cialis tabs for special opportunities." But I too noted and was disappointed by the severely reduced semen production. I haven't noticed any semen in my urine, but maybe it disperses in the bladder and can't be seen. BTW, some health insurance companies balk at paying for the daily 5 mg dose of Cialis since it's off label. If you believe the generic version is just as effective, that wouldn't matter since it's so much cheaper.

Mine will pay for it, but my urologist writes my script for generic 150 x 20mg sildenafil and I use GoodRX coupons that make it super cheap at Walmart, Costo, Sams, etc. I thought that the 20s were for angina patients, but the label says "take 5 20 minutes prior to sexual activity" so it's above board. Since 5 (100mg) is more than I need, I just take a couple of 20s (the 100s would be one pill) and it works fine. If my timing is off and we don't get started when I guess, I can take a couple more. I just don't exceed the 100mg. The price per fuck is not bad at all :).

I just checked and GoodRX is a little bit sneaky now! If you put in 20mg qty 100, GoodRx will first offer mail order with monthly delivery, but the math works out to $108 (I didn't look any deeper into mail order). If you instead just go to their sildenafil page that lists all of the pharmacy options for the default 10 x 100mg, Sam's is under $9. If you change it on that page to 150 x 20mg, Sams is around $15. I think I paid $25 at the grocery store because Sams is a trek for me. There's all kinds of discounts for the first time, and the price may be regional, but honestly you can't beat the price!

Anecdotally, we agreed to switch to tadalafil last time but my wife refilled the sildenafil that day. I didn't want to mess with so many of both so I haven't filled the tadalafil yet. I'm looking forward to trying it.

I meant to add that not all of it seems to go in the bladder. I dribble a little cum for a while after sex, so maybe its just in the tubes since there's not a lot of firepower behind the shot. Sometimes the wet spot isn't where I'd expect it to be, but it beats trying to pee with a full bladder.
