Valentine's Day Story Contest 2009 Reminder and Support Thread

okay, i opened several stories i was still planning to read, and i hope i get through all of them today... though there are still many more i also would like to read... hm well let's see. who needs to work or study or eat or sleep anyway?

In the final sweep, I lost at least 50 votes (hadn't checked in a couple of days), and my score went up. I have to say, I'm pleasantly surprised. My story did much better than I expected. My final score ended up being only .05 less than the third place story. Wow.

I lost six votes and my score went up. Unfortunately it was enough of a loss to disqualify me. Congrats to all the winners.

I had 15 or so troll votes gunned down and jumped from 4.3 to 4.45.

Higher than I expected given the cruelty of my story. No last place for me this time. I shall retire back to my lair and work on even nastier horror stories I can sneak into normal everyday contests

Lowest voted rating for a genuine attempt at a story multiplied by number of votes if less than 25 divided by 25.

So - if rating is 3.00 but only 12 votes the score would be

3.00 x 12 / 25 = 1.44

If rating is 3.00 but more than 25 votes, the rating stays the same.

I suggest ignoring number of reads except as a tie breaker when least number of reads would *win*.

Since the 'winner' actually wins nothing, it is pointless to cheat. To enter, all you have to do is declare your rating and votes at the time the real contest is decided.
Participation is entirely voluntary.

Og is banned from entry for life because he finds coming last too easy and is a past multiple winner of last places.

I find it hard to believe that I might be the only good sport who entered this contest. Apparently, I am, if you look at the amount of replies you have received.
