I don't know whether to feel jealous or envious or depressed at being left out. The anon poster has apparently skipped my story. Unless, that is, it's KK from Texas.

Or the close call on being named and shamed may have shut 'em upMaybe he/she got bored -- or getting called out on that whole "Valentine's is in winter" thing was embarrassing enough to shut 'em up![]()

Good morning Og,
I just posted my first story that happens to be a letter for the Valentine's Day Story Contest 2009. I do see it listed in my biography page, but I don't see it showing up in the list of Valentine stories. What did I do wrong and how can I correct it?
I am Yours SINSserely,

Damn new kids! Sorry, but I don't understand the quote button. I'll shut up now and let you experts do all the talking.I've just checked. It's there.
Has your browser saved the Contest page as an earlier version? If so you might have to refresh that page.
I'm not the fount of all knowledge about contests - just the traditional starter of the support (and moaning) thread.
Good luck with your entry.

Edited for PS: Welcome to the Authors' Hangout and watch out for those after your virginity.
And, thanks to Dark for getting back to me so quickly. I just finished telling Og that patience is not one of my strong points. Appreciate your time and information.

Thanks for your welcome. I appologize for reading that after the fact. Now, how would you suggest I protect my virginity? Be kind. I'm new.
The only way you can protect your virginity is not to make more than 29 posts on Literotica.
The evil denizens of the Authors' Hangout are likely to post messages you just HAVE to respond to so they can pop your cherry.
Once you have lost your virginity then your next targets are 100 posts so that you can have an AV, and 1000 posts so that you can have a personal slogan. After 1000, you can call yourself Slack Alice - your virginity will be a distant memory.

Is this the time I'm supposed to not say anything?
Do you think I should protect my virginity? Is that a good thing on here, or bad thing on here? Or, on here, is bad, the good thing to do?
Have you all read my letters? Can you pictue your mother writing these letters?
Have any of you made comments?
Do any of you know how to give feedback to a virgin? Do you think DG has a joke for that, too?
How do I rack up points for my Valentine story? Where the hell is the BFW when you need him?
Thank you for taking the time to read it. I appreciate your comments, too. I wrote it that way because we ALL have secrets we are hiding. Don't we, Dark? Not really my thing, but it feels pretty natural to me. There are hints of who the person on the other end is, but just enough to make you wonder, without destroying the illusion of happening across a personal letter between two people you don't know.
Contrary to the 'fairy tale' comment, I think there's just the right touch of "life getting in the way" to make it feel real, while still conveying a bit of a fairy tale day, conjured up by careful planning, rather than magic.
Letters is a really tough category. It doesn't get read much, and commented on even less. This is the second story in the category that I've ever read, actually.
I'd say you did quite well, even if it isn't necessarily the sort of thing I usually read.
