I'm back from my vacation and can reply better now. Let me know if this is ok.

First planet/moon they come across.

Around the first star they find (Andromeda galaxy’s Alpha quadrant, AA1 for a temporary naming convention) … the 4th planet in star system is a large gas giant. One of the moon's is as large as earth. It is mainly a water/forest covered planet, but seismically active. In orbit and on the moon’s surface are the ruins of a space station and a few space ships. Clearly a battle had been fought around the moon about 100 years ago. which filled the Moon's orbit with thousands of tons of debris, ranging from pebble-sized bits to 100-meter sections. There are also large chunks that fell to the moon's surface. There is a historic marker on the moon near the largest debris for sightseers and souvenir hunters.

Currently, there no one at the debris field.

Delvians are the species that won the battle and put up the monument

Delvians are roughly the same height and proportions as the average humanoid. However, instead of being a form of fauna, Delvians are actually floral organisms, with their main characteristic being blue skin with light green patterns. Their lifespan exceeds centuries and they are known to have psychic abilities.

Not sure what species lost the battle. Any ideas? Could be another group of Delvians. Or was the Silver Parasite involved?
