Upcycling in your home?

D(.)(.)

Hpe you don't use the tub firepit on the deck!

Love the canoe. We used to use our old fibreglas canoe as a wadding pool for our daughter and her girl friends.
Mosstly I recycle old cars and make street rods.

No, that one is down by the lake on a sandy area for sitting out stargazing and roasting marshmallows.

I have a friend who tears down old v8's to make lamps and light fixtures, you know, that industrial look.

Do you live near that lake? Nice.
By the way, what did you do with the other half of that bench?

I've seen complete V-8 blocks as coffee tables. All sorts of car parts as lamps.
A guy in Arizona has the original Batmobile in his living room! The thing cost millions.

All I've used are a few Model A grille shells and license tags as wall art.
I do have two old traffic lights outside that are on sequential timers and our long drive is boardered by license pates on a wire.

You put a sign that says lance at lit in front of either of those items and I will believe you, otherwise, you're full of shit:D

Thanks Sean...that covers that...maybe he will post some of his woodworking he brags about in the schooner thread

The Groveller wouldn't know the truth if it fucked him up the arse with a barbed wire dildo.

I gutted an upright piano and converted it into a computer desk for my desktop, which is now obsolete. It's now holding books and vinyl record albums, which are also obsolete.

My cottage is on a lake and is my weekend place.

Those aren't the actual items; the washing machine tub burn barrel is pretty common in Canada.

Not sure what to do with the old canoe...hence this thread...people make bookcases, outdoor planters, etc out of them and I'm looking for ideas.

Old pump organs also make cool desk conversions; I've seen a few of those.

I'm thinking about after we move converting a replica roll top desk into my smaller computer desk. That way I could hide the monitor and keyboard. It's a 60's house and we want to keep it looking that way.

A few old car sites I'm has lots of old car part ideas. Even complete cars as yard art.

Lol Why is it that if someone like Emerson said such things, I'd feel creeped out or about to puke,
but when Sean says them… HILLARIOUS!!!

The lake my cottage is on, of course.
We know people in the USA and Canada with more than one place.
Our neighbor lives in Canada and only comes down a few days a year.

Hell we have a home in the midwest and Florida. Ya don't have to be rich to have two shacks.

We have an altar for a kitchen island, and also a chest of drawers and a wardrobe for a kitchen units.

I have part of an old hay trailer I plan to have as part of a gate. I made light fittings out of chicken wire and sofa stuffing. Our bed base is made from Pallats ( it's an old brass bed, but the base was missing, and I do not care for divans, ( eventually I want a very slimline base made with some very slim line drawers in it, which I plan to tile with mother of pearl tiles...it might be a bit too cold on the back of the legs in the morning though? )

I am trying to convince G that the utility room cabinetry would be better made from left over bits of timber around the place than especially bought timber, and that mix / match wood could work better. I just keep getting that look.

My pot rack is a Harley Davidson Sportster chrome wheel suspended by chain with big S hooks for the pots.

City slickers would be amazed with all of the recycled things others use.
I got lazy. I always wanted to use car parts as part of the landscape and in the house.
Old license tags on a few walls and fake car part lamps was as far as I got.
I seemed to need the real parts on real cars!
This five acres does have more traffic signs than some some towns. I even have a NO SNOW MOBILING sign out front. So far it's kept them off our Florida property. Now I need one for those pesky golf carts and little four wheelers.

We are slowly moving my old car junk to the midwest. I have plans to make the side wall of the garage under the breezeway all car related. Also I want to use license tags and car parts along the 105' front property line as a fence. I'll miss the 330' here.

Not sure what the new old neighbors will think but they need a redneck in the neighborhood!
The old dinner bell and working old traffic light should get their tongues wagging.
Already have the garage full of old cars and parts. Gonna need another larger garage.
Yep that's snow on my poor old cars.
