Have you ever felt as though, no matter what you do, you'll be compared to another person by someone in your life? a parent forever comparing you to your sibling, or your S/O comparing you to a previous relationship? It's as if it just doesn't fucking matter how you act, or what you do in life, you'll always be judged by anothers actions.

I am so completely and utterly tired of this crap.

Oh stop it. You sound just like your mother when you do that.

Ugh! I officially hate you for saying that.

Of course, I still want to fuck you senseless, just so I can continue my shallow bimbo trend of the week.

Hell, Freya...in 18 years...not once have I ever cooked or cleaned like my mother-in-law. Hmmm...makes me wonder what her blowjobs are like?

Oh god - if I ever get married, his mother better be dead. I don't cook or clean well - I'll be living in comparison hell forever.

That is a bunch of crap. Inevitable, but generally frustrating.

Each unto thine ownself, uh, yadda, yadda, yadda.

My mother compared me to the great poet Emily Dickinson one time and I just burst into tears. Not fair, just not fair!

My mother was famous for this when I was growing up. "Why can't you be more like what's her face? She doesn't get in trouble/skip school/sleep with all the boys/get pregnant/whatever my crime of the week was."

She's a little toothy, but not bad.

The one that haunts me the most is... "You're spouse material for me, but I'm still in love with what K. was." in reference to the ex-wife that left him.

Oh, you mean you're in love with manipulation, lies, and infidelity?

No wonder I'm warped.

Mine is more my parents. They constantly do it - even now.

I don't think sex will help this headache.

This is the kind of headache were every move hurts. My skin hurts because of this headache.

This is one of those "Don't-fucking-look-at-me-let-alone-touch-me-headaches"

But Freya might be the one that is able to change that. :D

Heya Freya

oops, an inadvertant rhyme!

Keep your chin up, you are a grown up. Don't let your parents destroy your self-confidence.

Not a chance - it's just irritating.

Freaky - anytime you're ready, you just whistle. :)

Happens all the time to me, I get tired of it and go down the road without arguing about it. Life is to short to fight this windmill, even if you being judged unfairly.

Are you being compared to a sister, I assume?

Do both of your parents do this to you, or is it just one of them?

Stupidly enough, it's my brother. He's 2 years older than me, has never held a job, grows pot in his basement, and has been arrested with over 1000 pot plants. I asked for access to my inheritance from my grandma so that I can use it to go back to school in Febraury - but they said no, because my brother has asked for his and they said no to him. It's like apples and friggin oranges - one asks for money to buy a new hydroponics system, or whatever - and one for education. Drives me buggy. My father wants me to use it to buy a house, I don't want to buy a house. Besides it's only about $6000 - which isn't anywhere near what I'd need for a house, yet would give me the chance to do something I've always wanted to do.

ugh now I'm ranting.

God, I know this rant..... ~smiling~ I can understand completely what you are feeling. You are in a no win situation, doll.

My advice for what it's worth: Do what you want, on your own and without "help" (whether financial or verbal) from family members.
