'Too much' choke? Surely too much is exactly that - too much??? would that not be detrimental to the desired outcome???

Indeed too much choke would flood the carb.

The toggle requires a good tug to fire the contraption into life.

I think it was the mentioning about "too much choke" which spoilt things
