I agree with you in many ways Sex, we should try and be careful about forcing our ideas and morals on other countries, believe me as a historian i have to battle such a thing daily, but this marriage was not in mexico but Europe, the country she was in says it is illegal but their laws do not apply to her as she is a Romany Princess and she ran away from the wedding and her dad 'talked' her into going through with it. That is wrong, she should have a choice and if she chooses no to the country should come to her aid.

And what bout if a 20 yr old decided to sleep with a 12 yr old? the older person could easily inflence the child and get away with it if theres no law and even if there is some laws are nowhere near harsh enough.

We wer talking about a 12 and 15 year old i belive, and yes age makes a difference, as do's culture. Even in this country a 12 and 15 year old having sexual contact of any degree is oficialy classified as sexual experimentation, even by the NSPCC. Fact i was just at one of ther courses.

A 20 year old in this culture with a 12 year old knows they are wrong. But thats this culture, and may equaly be viewed as wrong in Mexico.

Influencing of a child or Grooming is a clasic trait of pedohiles, but in the mexican scenario we are not discussing pedophilia perhaps but culturale difference.

Try this whats the average life expectancy in mexico.

When was the life expectancy in europe the same?

What was the average age of married couples on there weeding day at that time?

God knows were i picked up Mexico from, will back track in a minute to find out.

Europe is different from mexico, but ecualy in europe there are many cultural differnces especialy in the minorities.

As to the Romanies, they are very much a law un to themselfs, in some ways simmilar to the Gypsys in the UK and Tinkers in Eire, all of whome are human beings, just cultures with differnt values.

But as i said they are different, We have a big enough problem educating the supposedley none 3rd world children of this country about the perils of unprotected sex, tenage pregnancy, and squandered youth.

Thank you for that, belive it or not it actualy means a lot.

the worlds screwed, all we can do is try, all of us, is to try and apply some sanity to the bit we are in.

In our culture the ways of the Mexicans and Romanies seem at the best bizzare.

But hell these are people that cant, in the most part, concive hot and cold running water, sanitation, or refrigiration.
