I think I found it! Put the hood on with the face part behind your head, then tuck up the face & neck part… at least, that looks like the progression in this picture: View attachment 2579977

not that i am getting obsessed by this... from my many uses of a Buff, you may have to turn it inside out and then fold it over your head - hard to describe, easier to do once you know. So, you put the front bit at the front, but inside out and piled up and then origami it into a hat as you pull it down into place.

The shawl cap is the easier way (and good in hot, sunny weather as it shades the back of your neck).

Maybe instead of putting the back part up to make the round cap, you could tuck them under? I wish I had one to try - I can’t describe what I mean!
