Erm ...

… "Hotel California" was by The Eagles

But most parts of Birmingham are hell - I've spent many days / weeks there working and haven't found any part that might be heaven! Always best to be in a hotel outside the place if possible.

A northern comedian once said of Brum... "if the world had piles, that's where they would be"

A tad unfair perhaps as all cities could offer the same crappy experience!

Lol

Oops, yes. I blame either the 70s drugs or the senility - I can't remember which.

Saw The Eagles in Las Vegas on one of their many Farewell Tours … We were so far from the stage I think they were in Nevada and we were in California!

But I do agree with the comparison of Hotel California and EU membership :( (Hopefully not to cause a major debate on that topic of course!)

Grimsby today and SkegVegas tomorrow...:D

It was a lovely drive out today though, apart from the dog wrangling half way...someone's dog got out, he was lovely if a tad fragrant!

This time next week, I'll be 3 cocktails in...hooray, hooray, I'm on holi holi day!

You do visit some exotic places . . . not!

Now . . . . that's a quaint little town, you could have done worse, like Spalding for example!

Of all the worse places you could pick you go for Spalding... and sure skmeomenon her lives in... oh, such a terrible way to wind them up!

Let's face it almost everywhere would have been worse?!

I did not want to wind anyone up, I have friends who live in Spalding, but work in Gosberton, and they hate the place with vengeance.

I can think of a few bleaker places in East Lincolnshire, at least this time of the year.

Anywhere along the A52 after Wrangle all the way up to Mablethorpe is like hell on earth, except there is no fire to warm one's cockles.

Mind you I live in a small village which is equidistant to Spalding, Wisbech and March . . . I still have to decide which one to torch first!

When I am done roasting those three it'll be the turn of Peterborough and King's Lynn!

Aaah, I see... and I was thinking of another Lincolnshire resident who occasionally pisses the GA off rather deliberately!!

Let me know when you get on to Peterborough, am with you there :)

There used to be a handful of warm fires in the area between Spilsby, Louth and Mablethorpe but those ladies are unlikely to still be open to visitors 30+ years on. :(

*runs in, waves hello*

Just dropping in on one of my one in blue moon visits to who's here that I remember from the old days!

*runs away again*

well-well, lookit. :D

How was Warminster? As nice and typically English as expected??

Someone gave me a viral infection that took all energy out and left me with no voice and a throat and respiratory tract infection that's hung around of almost a week.... bastards, best cycling weather of the autumn and I could push a pedal round once :-(

Are you cycling a submarine? 24 hours solid rain here and 24 more expected.

I wasn't cycling anything, I was wasted, GP said viral infection and go rest... not much else I could do....

Absolutely pissing it down here.
AND the gritters have been out... bloody awful combination.

Pissing down and gritting seems a contradictory waste of tax payers money!

Pissing down here too, shame... I have to stay indoors and watch rugby :)
