Now you've got to prove she consented to sex. Now any woman can retroactively withdraw consent. How can you prove she ever consented after that?

Perhaps it's time for a Lysistrata by men across the UK? Perhaps buy them vibrators and hand it to 'em and let the ladies have at it alone until this law changes?

Men accused of date rape will need to convince police that a woman consented to sex as part of a major change in the way sex offences are investigated.

The Director of Public Prosecutions said it was time for the legal system to move beyond the concept of “no means no” to recognise situations where women may have been unable to give consent.

Alison Saunders said rape victims should no longer be “blamed” by society if they are too drunk to consent to sex, or if they simply freeze and say nothing because they are terrified of their attacker.

Instead, police and prosecutors must now put a greater onus on rape suspects to demonstrate how the complainant had consented “with full capacity and freedom to do so”.

This proposed law makes it clear that having sex with someone who is incapable of making an informed decision because of the effects of alcohol, drugs or mental incapacity is abuse.

However, the UK conviction rate for rape is still very low compared with the accusations.

IF the new law makes people think before having sex when either person is drunk that would be a small improvement.

What if he was drunk, too? I bet if they're both drunk then he's guilty of rape and she's not.

Hell we got guys getting kicked out of college here for rape - and he was PASSED OUT drunk and she was taking advantage of him. I'm sure it's a hell of a lot worse in the UK.......
