Miss you lotsShadowsdream said:Congratulations beautiful lady!
Stubborn can be a very good thing...in the right moments. WOW did you ever choose a right moment...for a good cause.

Some people smoke more because of the habbit, and not the addiction. It sounds like that's kind of what you're doing. Smoking in just certain places can be more from the habbit of smoking in those places than it is from the addiction of smoking, itself.lne_iii said:Congratulations hun.
Wish I could do it...I've cut back alot, sort of.
I quit smoking at home, so I only smoke in the car and at work.
Though I confess sometimes I like to go driving, and sometimes I think it's because I want a fag.

This might not be a lot of help, but it might give you more ammunition, if you decide to go fuirther with your cutting back. If you know why you are smoking, it can sometimes give you a better chance at cutting back in that particular situation. Such as while driving. If you can cut back on those, you might cut back quite a few cigarettes, right there.
I have a friend who quit about a year ago. Two of her habbit smoking situations were while driving and while talking on the phone. She would just light up from shear habbit...not even thinking about it. Even if she didn't crave one, she found herself smoking. And, talking on the phone was compounded by a cup of coffee. Having a cup of coffee while on the phone caused her to smoke like a chimney. She said for her, the habbit to smoke wasn't as strong as the craving to smoke. Once she was aware of these situations, she was able to cut back even more, because that craving for nicotine wasn't there.

Wow! Three weeks and counting. You're smokin', girl! Oh...well, you know what I mean.Kajira Callista said:
I don't smoke, but isn't that why most people continue to smoke? Doesn't eveybody enjoy it, when they smoke? And isn't that one reason it's so difficult to quit? At least until the day they make that ulitmate decision to stop? Then, it's the addiction they are fighting.lne_iii said:Well i think that's partially true.
I think one reason I do it is it helps me focus.
If there's not alot going on my mind tends to wander, and smoking gives me something to think about. What kind of cig am I smoking? Do I like this brand? Don't burn anything...things like that heh.
But the main reason I smoke, at least I think, is because I enjoy it. That being said, I know it's bad for me, and am consciously trying to reduce it furthur.
People disagree with that and say, "blahblahblahiquitcoldturkey, youshouldtoo" ...
There's more than one way to flog an ass, and your way is not the only way lol.
Thanks for the insight though DVS.

You dont want them...miss them...or need them. It is like you were never a smoker at all. Kinda weird but it works.DVS said:Wow! Three weeks and counting. You're smokin', girl! Oh...well, you know what I mean.![]()
Is that stuff advertised at all? I don't know if I've heard of it, or not. Any side effects? Do you even want a cigarette, during the time you are taking this chantix?

I'm only asking. I don't know the answer. Maybe there's still more insight out there.
AHHHH thats why doc is keeping me on these pills for 90 days. He never did tell me why but chuckled when I said I was sure I was done with smoking and I didnt need the pills anymore.WriterDom said:No, it's not a habit or enjoyable, it's a drug, pure and simple.
Take out nicotine and smoking would go down 99.99%. Of course the black market would be bigger than pot is today. Might as well tax the shit. And it will be one less person getting social security.
Keep it up KC. Most that make it to 90 days quit forever.
My mouth was never an ashtray darlin'... thanks for the pulling.Yang4yin said:Oooooh! And no more kissing an ash tray mouth!
Keep it up - we're all pulling for you!
