That story I linked is about a jaded soldier who finds himself rescuing an abused woman. Not my cuppa but pretty decent story.

Point is, it's one way of tackling the subject, it's not going to change the world. These people are true believers in the power of their art with a seriously overblown sense of self importance.

Nobody has an unqualified right to expect that their use of the direct message features on this site is absolutely protected by privacy. If you abuse that right by using the feature to call people despicable names, you forfeit any such rights or expectations.

It isn't like this was told to me by Randi with a mutual expectation of confidence, which I would honor if made in good faith. Randi sent an extremely vicious and nasty message and immediately blocked my ability to respond to it. No, a communication like that enjoys no expectation of privacy.

If someone sent you direct messages at Literotica calling you racial epithets, or obscene names based on things like your gender or gender orientation, would you feel ethically bound to respect their right to privacy? I doubt you would. I would support your right to call attention to their abuse of the system, which plainly is in violation of the Site's policy not to use its features to make personal attacks. It's abusive. It's something people should know about, and if they persist, people who abuse the Site's features in this way should be blocked or banned for the good of the Site.

The person who DM'd you did nothing more than tell you. They had changed their opinion of you. They now hold you in a much lower regard. I don't see that as an attack. Just stating their opinion. (Done privately) You couldn't honour the agreement.
