Happy Monday!!!

It's raining stil. Through tomorrow, it looks like. and it's chilly, too. The furnace kicked in while I was downstairs getting coffee.

The feed supply store where I got plants was selling chicks. I always stop and speak to them. They had a heat lamp on over their container, so they lookes a strange shade of pink.

The housemate is noisily on the hone with the hospital about her father. I think they admitted him on Saturday. I don't know what's wrong, but I met his silly-looking three-legged dog. I kinda feel sorry for the dog . . . .

A .22 to the head is a lot cheaper than the vet.

;) ;)

Vincent 'Vinnie' Antonelli: Richie loved to use 22s because the bullets are small and they don't come out the other end like a 45, see, a 45 will blow a barn door out the back of your head and there's a lot of dry cleaning involved, but a 22 will just rattle around like Pac-Man until you're dead.

FroDOH! ain't man enough to walk into a thread like this...

;) ;)

He's drinking down at the Pink Slipper.

Yeah, I guess wrong type of thread for him. Scary stuff talked about in here. Gotta have safe space.

I can't really offer advice about guns for Cali. Wish they could be part of America some day again. Provided the political landscape changes.

Just for the record I'm a 45 guy.

BUT

I'm also a believer in the 40. Plenty of power and impressively flat ballistics in any practical self-defense range.

It's important that you shoot it before you buy it. I've shot some concealable 9's that are flat ass painful to shoot. I've also seen some folks rip the web of their thumb open with the slide on some of the newer spurless designs. (Yes, it was an improper grip but when you need a pistol most you aren't concentrating on your grip.)

A friend has a Kimber 45. Not the micro, more in the Colt Commander sizing. Excellent workmanship, smooth action, and comfortable to shoot. Then again at the price it damn well better be.

Ishmael

I love all my guns and the 40 cal is pretty awesome. Although the current one is not conducive to concealed carry, what a sweet gun and round.

History is not on their side. Once "Democracy" descends into Democratic Socialism (or whatever term we wish to use to describe the same phenomenon) then before the people turn to a Republic, they turn to a strong man. In time, I expect the no new wall crowd to actually want to build walls to keep the inmates in the Hotel California.

Agreed.

I have no experience with that breed.

Right now, we have eight legs of dachshund.

All small creatures tremble in fear at their fury; the deer just laugh at them...

They won't actually bite anything bigger than they are, they are sound and fury signifying nothing...

Those are some skunk killing machines there. Unfortunately, they like to bring the bounty back to their masters.

That happened to us just scant months ago.

Probably the only breed that gets even more pissed when sprayed...

They keep the possum on the half shell out of here too. Too bad they can't seem to catch rabbits.

Oh, I have a 40, and I like the weapon. It shoots nicely and is rock-solid dependable.

And it'll likely be my last, unless someone makes me an offer I don't refuse.

That is how I got my 40 and I will carry it any day. Where I live, it doesn't have to be concealed but you can if you so choose. But I am not partial to any one particular caliber. I carried a Grendel P-30 quite often.

What an unpleasant surprise from such little animals for sure.
