I like that it begins with people who have little or no economic acumen calling everyone who doesn't hate Trump stupid as well as accusing them of being economically illiterate. It's like any thread dealing with guns or abortion and it's just not worth the effort to try and get the Trump haters to understand the issues that drive business decisions.

They are so emotionally invested that there is no common ground for civil discussion. And it doesn't help that there are many left wing politicians that think tapping into this emotion is sound politics. Youth and high emotions invariably lead to frustration and that frustration often manifests itself in violence. The tinder is dry, all that's needed is a spark.

Honestly, that was the only disappointment.


The place is in a concrete block building. Stack bond, painted inside and out, and a concrete slab floor, also painted. There was a line threatening to exit the building when we got there. The seating is wooden tables and benches - function over form - but sturdy. It'll hold fat asses. They bring a serving of slaw, which is to write home about - maybe the best I've had - lemons, sliced onions, and tea by the pitcher with cups of ice. Nothing chintzy about any of it. It was full of people, which makes the seat yourself seating a bit interesting. But my tiny companion saw a seat over the crowd and got us hooked up.


And they had matching Chevy and Ford benches out front made from the ass ends of old pick-em-up trucks - tailgates, fenders, and the ends of wooden bed linings.


I would have prefered Dodges and Studebakers, but what-the-fuck-ever . . . .

On a brighter note, regionally anyway, it looks as if a normal 'Monsoon' pattern is beginning to establish itself. Thunderstorms forecast for the evening of July 4th and onwards. When I was living and working in Los Alamos we used to bet how far into the 4th fireworks display it would get before it was rained out.
