Dora is on TV for the little one, the pups are begging for cheerios that magically fall from the floor from her, I have pizza planned for lunch later, and because I couldn't sleep my housework is already completed for the day.

I get asked if I want another pet sometimes. I love animals but I am slowing down and I find the two I have keep me busy enough. The decision seems to be more of a timeline one though and maybe in the future I will take in another critter. I prefer older animals thought, they have their baggage but it always seems worth the effort to earn their trust.

Oh, teh poor widdle hunds. How could you?

Mom's battery is installed. Properly. A task too complex for the Average Lit Mind.

And the lovely tool that I ordered was waiting for me on the front porch when I got home. That's always nice when that happens.

Thanks, Amazon Prime!!!

The package thief wasn't following the UPS guy on his rounds?

They "picked up" a few of the neighborhood hangabouts a week or two ago. thanks be to Allah. So they may have gotten him.

Them.

Maybe.

Insh'Allah.

A replacement will most likely pop into the vacant position, soon.

Nature whores a vacuum.

In fact, for vacuuming, you probably need a Little Latina.

Vacuuming, mopping, and wiping down. Maybe even unloading the dishwasher.

And the laundry . . . .

By 'little' you mean 'fun-size'?

Happy Monday!!!

Coming to on the first cuppa coffee. Got to hit the road directly and go back to the mountains.

Wat wagers that all the window blinds that the others were to have gotten installed over the weekend . . . aren't. As will be a few other things, too, like making sure all of the doors are cut off to The Proper Mandated Clearance above finished floor. It's like no one listens sometimes.

But Wat will be back to make it all better . . . .

I forgot to mention the other day. I'm leaving the house on Saturday morning to go wherever, and I chat with the soon-to-be-ex neighbor. They're moving. I'm leaving, and he's pointing across the street . . .

at the deer. Two of them. Girlies.

So we have them to go with the bunnies, coons, possums, and of course the tree rats.

In the city!!!

Yeah, the local town is just loaded with deer and because it's a college town, it's also loaded with anti-hunting activists. I swear that during hunting season, a lot of our deer migrate into town.

It's becoming a serious problem in the East.

Deer overpopulation.

We're starting to see the effects here out West as well. In Lincoln Nat'l Forest down in the SE part of the state white tail are moving in and supplanting the native Mulies. Even worse white tail bucks are inter-breeding with Mulie does. The hybrids have the aggressiveness of the white tail with the size of the Mulie. What a lot of folks don't realize is that a white tail buck during the rut will attack humans and death from such attacks are not uncommon. While those attacks are still relatively rare they are on the rise.

Where I lived before we had a white tail overpopulation issue. Over a couple of decades they became small, they died easily in winter, they would strip whole areas of all the greens they could reach, and then after a bad winter disease became an issue. Now they have culls to keep the numbers down and they are healthier. almost back to full sized, and the plantlife is returning which is stops some of the flooding issues.

My personal packages are delivered to a secondary drop off, Canada Post calls it flex delivery service and it works pretty well for me.

As for your aging pups, you'll never give them away. They may be a bit of effort but you talk about them too much not to love them.

My only other news is we need temps for the next 6 weeks, so I called the unemployment office last Friday and asked them to send 5 people for interviews this morning. One showed up so I gave her the job and so far she's doing great.

We tried to entice a guy to cull some of our driveway herd, but he never showed up.

We do need more aggressive hunting here, but I think everyone is just getting too old.

The hubs and I took a ride up the holler a cpl weeks ago. It was maybe a mile up to look at a couple of fields he and a neighbor had bush hogged. In the one mile, I counted 30 deer. I wondered how many i didn't see.

I've been in town and had to stop and wait while a herd of 18-25 of the antler rats were making a mad dash across the road.

They graze by the interstates here. I saw a dead 4 pt and 3-4 does last week And if you take a trip up 79 through western PA this time of year, it's littered with deer carcasses. I wonder what they cost the insurance companies.
