Travel notes:

Currently at about 26 hours in the driver's seat.

Did actual work from about 130 yesterday afternoon until 8:30 this morning. Obviously, worked in several Power naps to accomplish that.

Really try to work some Logistics with a client so that I would not find myself on the wrong end of nap time in my bed, to no avail. It didn't make sense to drive 45 minutes home just to turn around and retrace my steps because I then went for hours towards Ish's.

Pause once for gas but I actually could have done all 26 hours on one tank.

Pause to get a big sweaty wad of cash out of the bank because I've misplaced my debit card and it some point here I'm going to need a hotel.

Realizing how close I was to that 1963 Remington 700 with a big wad of cash in my hand I decided I should stick my head in the gun shop and see if it was still there. No luck of course.

Hey my nearly delinquent post office box fee and sorted through 6 months worth of mail only to find no ballot there. I have apparently gone inactive with the registrar because unlike your typical big city Democrat registrar that keeps the rolls dirty for fraudulent purposes they actually clean them up around here.

Went to the County Recorder got myself a early ballot filled it out and voted for Martha McSally I hope to vote for her again in about 6 years for president.

The rest of the ticket I didn't really have a lot of concerns about other than of course I voted down the let's follow California and Obama's lead and have a nice green energy economy. Arizona's already pretty green and f*** California's ideas.

As long as I'm here in town I probably need to go ahead and stock my versions of dawn. See who is still single or at least single enough.

Tl; dr.

I'm home for trick or treat night for the first time in a few years; in years past the family gave out candy. We never get very many hobgobblins, but I always have candy, just in case. We will see how it goes.

Home. Went out for dinner. It was . . . edible.

Got the architect's punch list knocked the fuck out. I mean, all the fuck out. That bitch ain't gettin' back up. Wat almost ran over three millennials in the process.

Oh, and half the Hispanics are on strike to get paid. Seems they haven't been paid in two weeks. Their BossMan gets a direct deposit tonight. He would have had it last Friday of his fucking papers were in order. It's not like this is his first rodeo, but he's acting like a little bitch about it. Silly motherfucker.

Your story reminds me of my courier days. or rather daze some days. My buddy I got a driving gig for quit - he'd had enough of the runs, wearing out vehicles prematurely, and the fat-ass lying cheating thieving bastard who (mis)manages that branch. Them's was the daze, yo . . . .

We haven't gotten a trick-or-treater at this house, and this is the 21st year in this house.

I briefly considered attempting to socialize in that town and then I remembered why it was that I always left town to socialize. Tucson bound it is.

I made maybe an hour or so on the road and I had to pull over. When I woke up in the dark a couple of ridges away from civilization the stars were marvelous

I am currently about equidistant between the Mexican border south and Tucson to the northwest. My intermittent cruise control is currently working. Life is good.

Morning Wat.

First freeze of the season this AM. Not much of a freeze but a sign of things to come.

The range wasn't too sloppy yesterday and the Sun came out. Along with the Sun the breeze picked up so the good and the bad evened out I suppose.

I've rounded up everything I needed to change out the intake manifold so I'll be tackling that job today as soon as it warms up a bit. I have one stinking bolt on a heat shield that I'm concerned about. It's a bitch to get to. The rest of it is pretty simple.

Mornin' back atcha.

It's 50* here. No scraping required, although the dew might be heavy enough to hang about until the glasses warm a bit. The rain may start as early as this afternoon. We'll see. Which reminds me, there's still a roof vent that the HVAC twits installed which may still be leaking, so I might oughta get on the fucking roof (one more time) and put some more splooge on it.

I really need to carry my happy ass to the range.

Good luck with the manifold. I recall that on the Chrysler water manifild, it looked worse than it was. I had to dismantle the intake manifold to get to two bolts/screws. Some guy told me you have to do that to get to the back three plugs-n-coil packs, but I think I could do it without it. We'll see, if and when it starts missing fire.

It's mostly unplugging and unbolting, then putting it back together. Only two tricky parts, the bolt I already mentioned and the EGR tube at the throttle body. Easy to get to but must take care not to bend or break. Liberal application of penetrating oil should handle that nicely. So I'll just lube that up at the very beginning and dismantle everything I can before I have to deal with it.

It appears that I only have a gasket leak so I might have gotten by without the new manifold. But with the manifold in hand I don't have to worry if it's more than the gasket. If it's the gasket only I'll still use the new manifold, recondition the old one and sell it on Ebay.

Sounds like aplan, and best prepared anyway.

It looks like rain again this weekend, so my outside shit will have to wait one more weekend at least. Damn it.

I have a couple of dings in my index finger - the gun hand, no less. That makes touching everything . . . special . . . .

Off to see this New Species of weasel . . . .

My weasels are playing nice and shit is getting done letting me enjoy some extra coffee

Home in a mere 43 hours 45 minutes. Only lost one night of productivity but I enjoyed myself.

Probably should move my registration closer than 234 miles from my front door.
