The FBI always was an organization of lawyers, accountants -- educated professionals. I don't think they ever take anybody with no degrees.

How about this he keeps a director and a couple of assistants. He puts all agents at the disposal and pleasure of the Govenors and State attorney generals. The feds need to get out of the business of policeing.
Feeds can set agendas states can carry them out according to the will of the state. Same with the BLM and Forest service. Feds keep national parks and monuments. Just an idea

I don't know. Where would we be without the FBI television shows? Missing three hours of entertainment? I don't think a state-based cop show would be all that amusing.

Maybe a show about women trying to have lifesaving procedures while evading the local police, Evangelicals, and state Gestopho could replace them? Maybe in the vein of a Dragnet scenario theme.
