DES MOINES, Iowa—Former President Donald Trump claimed a huge victory in the Iowa caucuses, cementing his place as the prohibitive favorite in the race for the Republican presidential nomination.

The night was not a total loss for others, as Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis claimed a second-place finish, scoring well above his recent standing in the polls, and former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley finished third, falling below expectations based on recent polls that showed her in second place.

The tally with 97 percent of votes counted showed President Trump at 51 percent, Mr. DeSantis at 21 percent, Ms. Haley at 19 percent, and Vivek Ramaswamy at just under 8 percent.

President Trump’s 30-point victory is the largest in the history of the Iowa caucuses.

Always underestimated by the left, even when crippled by lawfare and other election interference he prevails. Why? Because he is not just a presidential candidate but the leader of a movement.

5% of Republicans in the 31st most populated state.

Good job 👍

That indicted whiner could barely get half the GOP votes.

Trouble ahead for the MAGAts.

Trump won 98 out of 99 counties. He more than doubled the 12.8% record-breaking winning margin Robert Dole had in Iowa's 1988 GOP Caucus.

10% turnout. Not saying the margin was small, but most Republicans didn't care enough to brave the shitty weather.

What Biden and his Marxists need to understand is they did more to give this victory to Trump than anyone else. As I have always said, Democrats always go too far. They are fueling a political rebellion in the United States and in Europe, but they are too stupid to see it.

Republican Iowa Caucus...

Year Total Votes Winning % Winner

2024: 110,000 51% Trump

2016: 181,000 27% Cruz

2012: 120,000 24% Santorum

2008: 118,000 34% Huckabee

Looks like turnout was down - probably due to more voters being relatively certain of the outcome. 2016 had high turnout, but it was hotly contested with several candidates that seemed to have a realistic chance of catching on.

Lately Iowa has not been a good predictor of who would eventually win the nomination, but taking over 50% does make Trump look a lot stronger than Iowa winners in recent elections.
Winter Conditions and daytime temperatures barely above zero turnouts shouldn't surprise us.

Now we see racist Communist Joy Reid condemning "white Christians" for the vote in Iowa. She's a hateful poisonous bitch. MSNBC Fascist Rachel Maddow admitted that MSNBC will not report Trump's remarks after winning in Iowa. So who is it that is against "democracy."

Exactly. One thing I've always wondered about people who push that we are Republic or Democratic Republic vs a democracy. Maybe its always been this way but I don't see how people can justify the tyranny of the minority we've seen especially since Obama. I mean its not even a "lets negotiate and meet halfway" this is "You give me everything I want or I will shut down the government.
Read the Constitution. We are a republic.

Dipsh*t

Trump will maintain his base from '20 but it's not enough to beat Biden. Of course Trump will say he won again so we must be prepared for J6 2.0

Biden's popularity is pegged at 33%, so good luck with the pronouncement above.

Trump on pace to win all GOP delegates in California: Poll

ByJack Birle

Former President Donald Trump is leading the GOP primary in the Golden State, according to a new poll, which could give him a massive advantage for one of the largest swathes of delegates for the Republican National Convention.

A poll from the University of California, Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies released on Monday shows Trump leading the Republican primary field in California with 66%, followed by former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley with 11%, and Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) with 8%.

Trump’s massive lead in the survey conducted earlier this month shows a net gain of 37% from when the pollster asked likely Republican voters who their preferred GOP presidential candidate was in February 2023, when DeSantis led Trump 37%-29%.

If Trump is able to sustain the lead or stay within 15% of what the pollster shows, he will win all of the California GOP’s 169 delegates. The state party changed the rules on how it allocates delegates for presidential nomination at the RNC.

BDG is soiling her shorts on the news.

It will be interesting to see how New Hampshire ends up. If I remember correctly, Cruz didn't win in 2016.

The oddest moment of last night was Nimrata "Nikki" Haley's delegates asking that college Republicans be removed from the caucuses. I'd have thought her delegates might be more amenable to having more members, but no, "we've had trouble in the past with college Republicans".

Definitely a gathering of uneducated good ole boys....

And that's why they've won the popular vote in all but one of the last eight elections...gotta love Republican logic.

Trump only got 51% in Iowa. That's a big win over 2nd place, but still, nearly half of those who showed up supported someone else over the de facto "incumbent". Context matters.
