Thank you. It has been nearly five years since we spoke of our feelings for each other and I know that she now has a partner and is happy. I would not wish to intrude on that.DreamOfSun said:Welcome to TC, complicity.
To be honest, I think it is common to experience romantic type feelings for people other than our spouses - especially given the daily environment that surrounds us. I don't think it is necessarily a bad thing. It is only human to experience emotion.
It is how we choose to respond to those feelings and attractions that defines what kind of person we are. And it is a choice.
I am sure it does hurt to feel those longings for someone else, and to still be in love with your wife the way you seem to be. Relationships are hard.
Best of luck to you.![]()

I have thought of you and Nigel as well ... I hope all is well with you both. Yes, we do need to catch up sometime.naughtygirl said:SS! Its wonderful to see you post, I have thought of you lately and wondered how you were. We need to catch up some time.
I was just scanning through the posts that I've missed since my move when I read this... Winzy sweetie, no one deserves to find that love more than you. We all make mistakes in relationships...some of us over and over before we get it right. The important thing is never giving up on love. It's out there for each and every one of us, I firmly believe that in the deepest depths of my soul. Some of us are still searching, like you and I...but I trust we'll find it. And when we do, we'll understand why it has taken us so long to do so. In the meantime...*hugs*Wintermute said:I hurt someone I love, someone who is both a friend and a lover, someone who means the world to me. I didn’t mean to, no one does. I did so by letting her know that I care. But I broke the rules. In my need to have her affections, I reminder her of a very bad time that occurred early in our relationship, a time I wish I could forget.

SecretScribe said:Hmmm .... how have I been .... that question has a lot of latitude to answer with ... considering how long it's been since I last frequented these parts with any sort of regularity ...
To answer the question ... both for you and for others and so get past it and not dwell on it ...
I continue to have fairly major issues with my back. The doctors (yes, plural) still don't have a solid understanding of what exactly is the root cause. I have completed a course of physical therapy to address what might have been a cause or contributing factor ... with flying colors ... the therapist has basically told me that my "core strength" (muscles relating to support of your body core ... essentially muscles front and back in the waistline area) are now fully back at optimum levels ... and there is nothing more he can do for me (at least int his area ... certainly there is LOTS of improvement that could be made elsewhere!!!!) ... and the back still hurts nor has there been any reduction that could be considered significant.
I continue to take pain meds, at doses that continue to escalate (not becuase the problem is getting any worse, but simply because the body gets used to the med and it becomes less effective) ... I think my current level of pain meds could pacify a small elephant.
Long story short ... I'm getting nowhere fast ...
As a consequence ... I rarely drive anymore (it's not really a smart idea) ... I tend to fall asleep almost anytime (including at work ... thank god my bosses and company is very understanding of my condition)) ... my abilities in multi-tasking ... gone, essentially.
So far this has been a fairly negative reply ... however .. not all is bad. Last summer I was a slug. No exercise, nothing ... just living with the problem and generally going downhill. This summer I'm back to working in the garden, doing my exercises, going out with family (with someone else driving of course). Basically I've found that being active doesn't really make anything much worse (it's all short term, what worsening there is), so I might as well carry on with my life, such as I can! Mentally this makes me feel a whole hell of a lot better! (and the garden looks ten times better!).
However ... I have cut back on many activities ... focusing on just a few, and most of those oriented toward the family and house and work ... mostly because those are the easiest to keep focused on and bring me the most rewards (ergo why I have not been on Lit much at all, not on my computer forums).
All in all ... things are better than last summer ... but there are still significant challenges ...
hope this answers your question ...
