Thanks  . Actually when I got home I had email asking for yet another interview...this time with the HR Department. I'm hoping that means they are real close to making a solid offer.

Vanilla Pudding Robbery

This is just too funny not to share. Excerpted from an article which
appeared in the Dublin Times about a bank robbery on March 2.

Once inside the bank shortly after midnight, their efforts at
disabling the security system got underway immediately. The
robbers, who expected to find one or two large safes filled with
cash & valuables, were surprised to see hundreds of smaller safes
throughout the bank.

The robbers cracked the first safe's combination, and inside they
found only a small bowl of vanilla pudding.

As recorded on the bank's audio tape system, one robber said, 'At
least we'll have a bit to eat.'

The robbers opened up a second safe, and it also contained nothing
but vanilla pudding. The process continued until all safes were
opened.

They did not find one pound sterling, a diamond, or an ounce of gold.
Instead, all the safes contained covered bowls of pudding.
Disappointed, the robbers made a quiet exit, each leaving with
nothing more than a queasy, uncomfortably full stomach. The
newspaper headline read:

IRELAND'S LARGEST SPERM BANK ROBBED EARLY THIS MORNING

:) It's even better - I'll be the one administering the tests for the profs that certifies them internet ready (can they do email, can they send file attachments, etc). I'm amazed at just how many people still are scared to death of computers. *mental note - I must use my powers for good*

confessions

  • I'm still awake and don't yet feel like sleeping. (It's gonna be a LONG week!)
  • Missing my best friends very badly right now. My two "oldest" friends are getting together this week back in Brooklyn. They'll even spend a couple of nights in Atlantic City! I miss them. :(
  • I don't like firecrackers!
  • I watched ALL of the Princess Diana's birthday concert on VH-1.
  • I miss hockey. ;)

Thanks! I was beginning to wonder if I would ever have a job again - in between changing careers and not being a perky 20 something, things were looking bleak. Thought I'd be freelancing forever. Now I can freelance only on projects I want to cause my house payment is covered. :nana:

It's been close to a year since your last post....and you have been sorely missed by the ladies of TC
In complete honesty, I have missed the ladies of TC just as sorely. I have missed several of the non-ladies as well

... and before any wisecracks are made, any person of the female persuasion who visits TC is a lady, ergo those non-ladies I mentioned would be fellow ne'er-do-wells like me ( or Oman, or KK, or ... well there are a number of excellent people I have missed).

(close to a year???? ... sheesh)

Don't be amazed ... just encourage the thought. It provides the rest of us with a nice paying job and has any number of people thinking that either we are related to Einstein ( or have consorted with the Dark Powers to gain powers never meant for the hand of Man ...)

Ohhhhh, no dilemma Mr. Scribe. Pucker up, I've got a list of what to do with you and it starts right there.

*puckering* (with great anticipation!!!)
*thinking* ... "ummm ... didn't sorta get married a while back?"
*background music begins to get louder ... and scarier*
*remembering* ... "un huh ... she did ... and I remember that he was a 98 pound weakling ... NOT!!!"
*a wonderful kiss*
*that damn background music ...*
*arms entwining*
*somewhere a door slams*
*!!!* "Ummmm ... Sorta?" (breaking the kiss)
*Sorrow* (for the end of the kiss)
*fear* (for the on-coming heavy footsteps)
*shame* ( for the, ummm, accident ....)

...

...

"Sorta, you know I love you dearly :rose:  :rose: ... and I've been waiting literally years for that kiss :nana: ... and quite obviously the list starts right here (and I'd really, really like to know the specific contents of that list  ...)"
...

"but do you think there is any way to avoid ending that list with my broken and battered (though justifiably abused) body? "

*flee the oncoming husband!!*
*exit, stage left*

I have not checked it out. As you might have noticed ... I've been somewhat reclusive ;)

I'm guessing that most people who've only dropped by in the last 12-15 months don't even realize that TC is a bar (they probably trip over the pool table all the time and never realize where the bruises come from ... )

Can't claim to be related to Einstein, and I may have consorted once or twice ;). And yes, those who fear what they do not understand does provide us "geeks" with very nice paying jobs. Which is a good thing given those pocket protectors can get expensive :)

Good morning ... and I hope that everyone survived the mid-week holiday

For those that celebrated too heartily, the bar will be open early serving both Virgin Marys and the Scribbler's own Bloody Marias, a Bloody Mary with a very south of the border spicing scheme (you probably won't even notice the vodka ... no one ever has ;)).

One or the other should put anybody needing assistance into the proper mood for facing a return to work

Cheers!
