I have felt what you are feeling. I have had affairs. My mind and heart processed them afterward much the same as yours is. The first time the guilt consumed me to the point of nearly wrecking my car while driving/crying and was the first time I got insomnia. I finally went to my s/o and told. The second time, I refused to put him through the pain of knowing...the affair lasted a couple awesome years and he's still my best friend and close to my partner (how weird is that?).
