Jeff, I just wanted to drop in and congratulate you on the great news. I was lurking with my fingers crossed. :)

What A Difference One Day Makes...In Memory of 9-11-01

On Monday we emailed jokes. On Tuesday we did not.

On Monday we thought that we were secure. On Tuesday we learned better.

On Monday we were talking about heroes as being athletes. On Tuesday we relearned who our heroes are.

On Monday we were irritated that our rebate checks had not arrived. On Tuesday we gave money away to people we had never met.

On Monday there were people fighting against praying in schools. On Tuesday you would have been hard pressed to find a school where someone was not praying.

On Monday people argued with their kids about picking up their room. On Tuesday the same people could not get home fast enough to hug their kids.

On Monday people were upset that they had to wait 6 minutes in a fast food drive through line. On Tuesday people didn't care about waiting up to 6 hours to give blood for the dying.

On Monday we waved our flags signifying our cultural diversity. On Tuesday we waved only the American flag.

On Monday there were people trying to separate each other by race, sex, color and creed. On Tuesday they were all holding hands.

On Monday we were men or women, black or white, old or young, rich or poor, gay or straight, Christian or non-Christian. On Tuesday we were Americans.

On Monday politicians argued about budget surpluses. On Tuesday grief stricken they sang 'God Bless America'.

On Monday the President was going to Florida to read to children. On Tuesday he returned to Washington to protect our children.

On Monday we had families. On Tuesday we had orphans.

On Monday people went to work as usual. On Tuesday they died.

On Monday people were fighting the 10 commandments on government property. On Tuesday the same people all said 'God help us all' while thinking 'Thou shall not kill'.

It is sadly ironic how it takes horrific events to place things into perspective, but it has. The lessons learned that week, the things we have taken for granted, the things that have been forgotten or overlooked, hopefully will never be forgotten again.

Walking into his favorite bar, Willie said to the bartender,

"Pour me a stiff one. I just had another fight with the little woman."

"Oh yeah?" said Harry. "And how did this one end?

"When it was over," Willie replied, "she came to me on her hands and knees."

"Really? Now that's a switch! What did she say?"

She said, "Come out from under that bed, you little chickenshit."

I was waiting to get a haircut earlier today, sitting on a wooden bench, when the strangest thing happened. My dick fell asleep on me. I don't know if it was how I was sitting or what, but it literally went numb.
It's the craziest sensation when it wakes back up, I tell ya.

I am happy to report I did not one item on my todo list :D I took a nap, a shower, went shopping and had dinner out. So this is what life is like on the other side of the bars! :nana:

Hope you are having a great weekend as well. BTW, what medium to you like to work in?
Good for you!!

Re: what medium -- I prefer oils, more specifically real oils (not the non-toxic water soluble oils -- they just don't "feel" the same).

We are working hard to try to find a place that would allow for a space for me to have a studio; I haven't painted in forever and its starting to take a toll. If we can't find one, I may have to resort to using the fake oils.

Geezes, this is like old home week.
How are ya, kk?

Thank you

Thank you again for all of the well-wishes, thoughts, prayers, and support I received.

In all of this I did quit smoking finally....Apparently just had to get the crap scared outta me to do it.

The lovely shaved chest is itching like a bear growing back in.

I have a great 2 inch incision at my throat that will be useful for jokes...See what Dr. XXXXX did when I called to ask a stupid question???

I go back to the surgeon on Tuesday for official test results (the frozen section performed in surgery is 95% accurate...Here's hoping that karma doesn't develop a bad sense of humor).

Will likely be sent on to rheumatology for ongoing treatment to prevent spread from lymphatic to respiratory system. Sometimes it can be self-limiting, sometimes not. I prefer to take no chances at this point.

Haven't messed with "real oils" in years, but it hasn't so long ago that I forgot the aroma. My last art class used acrylics, and they aren't bad but I do miss being able to play with the paint.

Said you couldn't get motovated about moving? Look for a place with an extra bedroom...they convert real nice to a small studio. Light is generally crap, but they have those true color light bulbs now that help somewhat. The important thing here is to get started again. An artist that isn't creating is a unhappy artist :rose:

Morning y'all

Wow, this is really nice! Jeff is gonna be OK and around to tease for a long time to come, Sort popped in and even though we got the short version of her post, was real nice to hear from her. SS, Winzy, NG, CF, kk........it is so cool to have people here again......summer must be officially over :D

Hows this for a tagline from an advanced art school that is courting me.......

"After you have climbed the mountain, you are just a bum with a view"

I know your work is better!

Great to see all the oldtimers back!

Sorta and danny, the big day is coming soon! :nana:

Little Johnny is taking a shower with his mother and says, "Mom, what are those things on your chest!?" Unsure of how to reply, she tells Johnny to ask his dad at breakfast tomorrow, quite certain the matter would be forgotten.

Johnny didn't forget. The following morning he asked his father the same question. His father, always quick with the answers, says, "Why Johnny, those are balloons. When your mommy dies, we can blow them up and she'll float to heaven." Johnny thinks that's neat and asks no more questions.

A few weeks later, Johnnys' dad comes home from work a few hours early. Johnny runs out of the house crying hysterically, "Daddy! Daddy! Mommy's dying!!" His father says, "Calm down son! Why do you think Mommy's dying?" "Uncle Harry is blowing up Mommys' balloons and she's screaming, "Oh God, I'm coming!"
