I definitely prefer that a man keeps himself trimmed, esp. if he is very hairy. It definitely makes it better when I am going down on him and don't have to worry about hair in my mouth. 
i think it might be a good idea. i am female but i shave myself bald all the time, hubby even helps out sometimes, maybe have your patner help out i think that would be funny for you to and sometimes it leads to more bedroom time. but let me warn you the first time you shave maybe even from trimming it will itch like crazy when it starts to come back in, but the more you shave or trim the more you will be able to handle it and after awhile it won't bother you anymore.

My partner likes to keep his balls and underside of his penis clear of hair. I got to trim him the last time and found I truly enjoyed it. (The first time I'd ever done that) I don't like, however, when a man goes bald above his penis. Just not into the look, though my partner does trim the hair there as well to some degree. He's not overly hairy, but the hair on his head does grow rather quickly, if that is any indicator. I'm thinking he probably needs a trime about 3 - 4 times a year. But that's only a guess.

I shave everything and find that it gets me better BJ's from the girlfriend.

Like the haircut on your head (the one above your shoulders) a trim below is always good. Try a beard trimmer with a guide that allows you to trim evenly. This is a good start.
Trim the part between your penis and belly button first, then take the guide off and trim between your legs, balls and a-hole. Don't worry unless you have a dead on hit with your balls, a beard trimmer won't cut you.
An added bonus (if this matters to you or your mate) A trimmed back bush (crewcut) makes your cock look bigger.

My ex shaved but it was always sooo scratchy. I hated it. Aesthetically it was nicer, but texture wise it was not erotic. Trimming is nice, but full on isn't bad either.
I love having my partner's shaved, particularly during oral sex. Also, it just looks so damn sexy!

My wife read this thread and the next thing I knew I was the proud owner of a beard trimmer. After letting her trim it up she decided that she wanted to see me with the "bald look". As it turns out after a couple of days I'm finding that I really like it also though I'm finding it difficult to keep my pants on as she likes it so much she keeps taking them off to get that up close look. My personal experience
I started shaving several years ago and love it! As does my wife.
But I only shave the sides, underneath and my balls. As long as you do not shave on top, the itching seems to be minimized and for me non existent. I also think it looks odd when a man is totally bald. Hair on top looks normal and bald underneath looks sexy. At least according to the wife.
I also notice that the hair grows back very slowly so frequent shaving is not necessary. But a good fresh/new razor is essential.
The added sensations of being shaved are fantastic. The first time you shave, you will be amazed at how good it feels to just step in the shower and have warm water flowing over your balls. You would never guess how the hair desensitizes you. It makes oral sex for her much more pleasant and the sex is fantastic because things feel really slippery when the juices start flowing on smooth skin.
My suggestion is to give it a try. If you do not like it, it will always grow back.

A while ago my Love and I talked about trimming and shaving. She surprised me when she trimmed herself. Just to a longer fuzzy length, not stubble. My hair grows up my shaft and I was told years ago by a GF that if I removed the hair, she would spend more time down there.
Obviously, with that incentive, I used my beard trimmer and removed the hair. She lived up to her promise.
Although we are not together anymore, I still remove the hair from the shaft. All of my GFs since then have liked it. I also use the trimmer to shorten the rest of the hair.

I shaved my head this summer for the first time (the one above my shoulders). It was interesting, felt weird and I got lotsa comments.
