Real frontier towns had stronger gun control that we have today. The pioneers treated guns as serious tools, not macho fashion accessories or toys.Not true to anything remotely approaching the degree you probably think it is. Guns were a rarity in the real Old West. Just for starters, there's no evidence anyone was ever "called out" for a shooting at high noon. That was invented for the movie of the same name. The shootout at the OK Corral? It really happened, but the death toll was all of three people.
