Told myself I couldn't paint, until I finally decided to see if I could

This is acrylic on 2x3 canvas
Took me about 7 hours
Liked how it looks 'cold'
Sold it for 800 bucks

I had never painted anything before.

I have had 2 people with art degrees say it is annoying that I have no formal training that I am just naturally good.
It looks well balanced , snowy, and a bit dull. I suspect that the use of greys and blacks can be improved, Keep in mind that black makes a painting look 'flat' . Very dark greens for the trees might some blue tones would make the perspectivr look better. Have a look at some masters who paint similar work. Conratulations ob the sale. Keep it going.

Finding it very difficult to believe that someone would pay "800 bucks" for that.
Not meaning to offend (or come across as somehow jealous) but it does look pretty amateurish and really does not reflect something worth anywhere near 800 dollars.
Please do enlighten all of us as to where you managed to sell this (gallery/online/exhibition etc) I really need to try and gauge how you managed to pull this off.

Simple. Sold it to my landlord. I needed 800 bucks for dentures. He loaned me the money. I should mention I might know the only nice landlord on the planet :) Without him, I was as my wits end at the time. Was seriously considering selling my virginity. No I am not sure it was worth 800 bucks. My virginity that is hehe. I paid him back and gave him the painting as interest on the loan.

But to my credit, I have sold other paintings I painted after that one.
Sold this for 60 bucks More realistic but it is much smaller 11x17 inch
I would say that you can paint. Keep up the good work and you are already finding your rewards.

"Naturally good" or somewhat delusional ?
These (at best) could be described as "Naive art"
Coming on here and boasting about selling a piece for 800 Bucks when in fact there was a whole back story about a landlord loaning the 800 dollars for dentures, and the painting itself was in fact given as some kind of interest on the loan.
So in fact the painting was given to someone for free. not 800 bucks.

SixtyBlue, you sound like a cunt.

I'll accept the kind compliment of the 2 art degrees over the less than friendly opinion of a jerk on a perverts site

Naive art? I think you are on the wrong thread, please tell him to piss off
