To Sleep or not to sleep??

I had a curious thought I wanted to share. What if some modern drug or medical procedure made it unnecessary for you to sleep anymore? You could function without grogginess, or mental fatigue 24hrs a day with no physical side effects. Assume that such a procedure is a one-time thing, and after you neither need sleep, nor could you sleep if you wanted to. Once you opt to have it done there is no going back. What would you do? Would you choose to continue to sleep for 1/3 of your life, or would you forsake the physical and mental comfort of sleep for the extra time you would get?

Tell me.

I'm sleep deprived now and caffeine is what's keeping me going as it is. I'm choosing sleep if I could get it. Besides, that's when I have my best dreams.
;)

That really is a tough call. Especially since I never can find enough hours in the day as it is. I think I would do it.

physical and mental comfort are very important. Just think of what we would all be like with out these small mercies.

So you would choose to sleep?

Ah yes, dreams. Didn't even talk about dreams did I. How many people would forsake the ability to dream. Now you could still daydream, but something abouta dream during sleep, it is like a gift to you. Something not controled, yet revealing and wonderful none the less....

Morning Candy lady, sorry your sleep deprived.

That's an interesting question.

I hate sleeping and feeling like I'm missing out on whats going on in the world. So I tend to stay up far too late and get up far too early.

But I would still rather have the option.

Snuggling down in a warm bed, the covers almost covering my head. The feel of my lovers warm soft skin touching me his moist breath against my neck, as we both drift off to sleep.

Not to mention being awakened in a very special way. :D

Yes I would. I'm a mother of 4. I need this rest :D. Even if I wasn't a mother I would still choose to sleep because it is healthy for the body. Sleep helps your body repair from the daily wear and tear on it.

Day dreams are wonderful and quite a treat to indulge in but my dreams at night are what I treasure the most. I can do anything in my dreams from solving the worlds problems to finding myself in the arms of someone that exists only in my dreams. And not mention just the sheer luxury of slipping in between sheets so soft that they feel like they are caressing my body.

You go ahead and forgo sleep, I'm going back to bed.
Anyone want to join me??
;)

Good morning to you as well G. Sleeplessness and I are old friends it seems these days

sleep...........

I would choose to sleep...........I suspect if I were awake all the time I would get bored eventually.......might take a couple of months........and then how would I just get away from it all?..........sit staring into a corner some where?............I think the brain needs the kind of diversion it we get with sleep..............

No sleep?!
What would I do the other 14 hours of my day?

Seriously, we all need sleep, just as a break from ourselves.

If I never had to sleep again, I probably wouldn't unless I didn't have anything else to do, or I had just finished having sex/ making love/ whatever you want to call it.

Yes the after sex sleep.... That would be hard to give up, the suggling and warm drowsiness....

Morning Kitty, how are you doing?

"To sleep, perchance to dream, ay there's the rub....
For in that sleep what dreams may come....."
~Wm. Shakespeare Hamlet: Act III Scene I

But for Lit maybe is should be paraphrased:

"To sleep, perchance to dream, ay there's the rub..(oooh yeah baby, right there...mmmm..)....
For in that sleep wet dreams may come......" ;)

apologies to lover's of Shakespeare, this is strickly meant as humor, and not anything else

More time equals more fucking.

Pretty simple conclusion for me.

Tough call.

I am goal driven in everything. If there is something I like, then I will hunt it like a preditor after dinner. There is always something new to hunt.

I would have to consider the options very carefully, but having the ability to work through the night is very appealing.

Not to mention the problem of getting tired at a dinner party, having that go away would be a good thing.

That would leave more time to find new and interesting sexual partners.

Yes, in the end, I would probably choose no sleep.
