Yes friends it is Opening Day once again. It is quite possibly my favorite day of the year. Dreams begin and end, hope springs eternal and it is the one day that everyo0ne is on a level playing field.

Tonights game, the Mets vs. the Cards in a rematch of last seasons NL Championship game.

I sure hope so. I've been to one game my whole life and I was 7. I didn't get it back then because I had just moved from England, and only just got introduced to the game. Plus my team lost.

I got to stand at home plate at Wrigley Field before a game and be intorduced to the crowd. Of course since I'm a Cardinals fan, it didn't have quite the allure it might have. And incidently the Cub Cadet lawn tractor got a much bigger round of applause.

I took a lot of crap for it too, and I was actually born in New York. Of course, my parent's moved while I was less than a year old...

When I lived in Maryland everyone thought I should be an Orioles fan. Then I went to school in Boston, and that isn't exactly a great place to be a Yankees fan. Now in California, I work with a couple of people who grew up in Boston, and they think it is criminal that I didn't adopt the Sox while I lived there.
