Time for Baseball!

Padre fan. Huge. Season ticket holder and everything...

all I want is a post-season without the frickin' Cardinals in it!

The only National League team to ever beat the Padres in the postseason? The Cardinals. Five trips to the dance...eliminated by the Cards three times ('96, '05 & '06) and in the World Series by the Yanks ('98) and the Tigers ('84).

Todays games:

Toronto Blue Jays @ Detroit Tigers, 10PT/1ET
Tampa Bay Devil Rays @ New York Yankees, 10PT/1ET on ESPN
Florida Marlins @ Washington Nationals, 10PT/1ET
Atlanta Braves @ Philadelphia Phillies, 10PT/1ET on TBS
Cleveland Indians @ Chicago White Sox, 11PT/2ET
Los Angeles Dodgers @ Milwaukee Brewers, 11PT/2ET
Chicago Cubs @ Cincinatti Reds, 11PT/2ET on ESPN2
Arizona Diamondbacks @ Colorado Rockies, 1PT/4ET
Boston Red Sox @ Kansas City Royals, 1PT/4ET on ESPN
Oakland Athletics @ Seattle Mariners, 3:30PT/6:30ET
Balitomore Orioles @ Minnesota Twins, 4PT/7ET on ESPN2
Pittsburgh Pirates @ Houston Astros, 4PT/7ET
Texas Rangers @ Los Angeles Angels, 7PT/10ET on ESPN2

times are rounded down to the earliest half hour. Other televised games may be available on other channels, but these are the ones I know of. Be sure to check your local listings.

Here we go. :D

Of course the Giants and Padres are the only two teams that don't play until tomorrow.

It'll be interesting to see how each team goes since they both lost some key players.

I'm giving my stepfather Cardinals tickets as part of his Christmas present. He'll look for you dancing. ;)

Scores are updated and only one game left. My A's lost too, but it's a long long season, and it's just one game. Here's to next time! :D

I was at work and missed most of opening day...but I do have tickets for the 10th. Can't wait to get back to Wrigley Field and the only team in MLB that really means anything :p

So how do you feel about the team being put up for sale?

The baseball players or us adoring fans? :p
hahaha, both, of course.

oh, and btw, I guess The Cubs were so busy being meaningful that they totally forgot to win the division, yes? :p

I know who Sam Zell is. He is avid sports fan, investor in Chicago Bulls too which is good. However, he is also a takeover man, ruthless business tycoon, so thats not good. The problem with the Cubs is fans come no matter what, they have no real incentive to be good as far as bringing in fans and money. The White Sox went through a few seasons of horrible attendance because they were doing so bad, go figure...

The Cubs just know the fans wouldn't know what to do if they couldn't say "Wait til next year" :p

We'll be fine...we lost Roberts and Piazza, true...but we gained Maddux, and we have great pitching. We have a kid at third base that has a chance to do something special. We could actually be better offensively than last year...and I think we will be better on the mound.

I'm saying 88-90 wins.

hopefully, anyway...

My Mariners will surge from the AL West cellar, destroying the As and the even more formidable Anaheim Los Angeles Burbank East Compton Haloes ...

Yeah, who am I trying to kid.

Hargrove will be fired after going 5-20 (good thing Dusty Baker's on speed dial), Ichiro will be in pinstripes next season, and our 111 million dollar payroll gets us 78 wins.

I'm gonna retract all my previous comments and demand that we play the World Series now, before we concede the division to the Angels.
