Professional Baseball: Drugs, Lockouts, Short Seasons, Congressional Hearings.

Professional Hockey: lmao.

Professional Basketball: Lockouts, Strikes, Short seasons

Professional Football: Refs? Drugs,

College Football: Child Rape

College Basketball: Recruiting Violations

Professional Cycling: Drugs

Olympics: Drugs, Judging Bias

Why do we bother with sports? These are Reality TV shows with overpaid casts from top to bottom paid by the people they cheat.

Take a week off and read a book instead.

I kind of agree with you, but at the same time I am just as guilty as wanting to watch sports.

On the flip side, if all professional sports disappeared tomorrow, I wouldn't really miss them.

At 200+mph, I don't think anyone is smoking other than some of those redneck chicks...

Anyway, having been to many Chiefs-Raiders games, I can assure you that most fans are already revolting...

I put baseball on ignore after they cancelled a World Series over money.

I might put the NFL on ignore if grown men cannot stop blaming the referees for their own losses...

Winston Cup, Busch Sprint Cars... Beer and Cigarettes and still a sport.

(I know it's not the winston today, but every Dale Fan still calls it the Winston)

20 yard penalty for "unsportsman like conduct on the Bench"?

Staredown = extra challenge and extra Time Out?

I used to tell my fighters, if you lost a close match, do not blame the judges when you had the power to make it an unclose match.

;) ;)

If you talk back to a judge, he will not have to penalize you because I will pull your ass out of the match!

You treat these men like prima donnas and you are going to get drama queens.

How about if the judge tells your fighter that he isn't allowed to use his left hand?

Then you had better not use your left hand.

Our school fought anywhere, anyplace, anytime and any rules.

Most days we only learned the rules once we got there. As an umpire at at early age, I learned to be god; there is a rule book, but whatever you agree to in ground rules over-rides the rule book and if the NFL teams hate the refs so fucking much, then they should just forfeit the game. Seems to me, there was plenty of bitching with the real refs, but now the bullies figure they have targets who have to take it because no one will defend them so you get this egregious, horrible display of poor sportsmanship being eaten up by a new group of youth football enthusiasts...

yes, there was bitching at the real refs. Every week. But they weren't making 3 obvious mistakes per game in the Rules department. Their mistakes and the bitching was about "blind," "that wasn't holding," and "he was in-bounds".

Today it is, "Um, the rule book clearly states that the coin must have two sides".

The obvious mistakes, save one, that I have seen in the games I watched were over-ruled by replay.

The one bad call went against the Chiefs and the better team still won the game.

This is just the NFL players and coaches proving that they are a true bunch of thugs and that their fans are unthinking brutes and airhead blondes looking for camera time...

Indeed. The players union could end the lockout in 5 minutes by threatening a strike. The owners would cave. They know the replacement refs can be trained as the season goes along and the old refs position gets weaker every week. But the players cannot be replaced - they tried that once already.

Not that anyone minds the airheaded blondes.

They can be heavily fined; this is not a free speech scenario.

They can be fine!

They cannot be fined as much as lost TV revenues. The players are proving they value money more than quality as well.

So far, the biggest bitches are over two plays in two games.

We had that every week with the real refs. Color me unimpressed...

Its just a game...let the kids play

It's a game in $1 billion dollar publicly funded arenas, protected by $1 billion of publicly funded policemen and regulated by $1 billion dollar congressional hearings.

I want my $3 billion worth of "settle the damned thing and play it right" to be heard.
