Tiger did it again. A third Masters victory and one of only 3 people to ever win The Masters back to back.

I read somewhere that he may be the first athlete in history to earn $1,000,000,000 from just playing his sport (NOT counting endorsements!)

Then again, he is also the only human being to have a Rolex named after him :)

I thought this was gonna be a thread about aliens in a secret club involving green disco jackets and little fezz hats.

Boy, was I way off.

There is no such thing as disco.

It was a mass hallucination brought on by the backwash of the Free Love 60's.

As long as VJ couldn't win, I'm just as glad it was Tiger.

Oh yeah, then how do you explain all those lime green polyester "angel flight" suits with massive collars and tight -sock in the crotch- bell bottoms, Mr Peale?

Biggest surprise of the Masters...

...was during the presentation at the end when they were naming all the other organizations. I swear that Hootie guy mentioned "Libyan Golf Federation". Also lots of others (Venezuela, Paraguay, Chile).

heyyy man (cheech accent) don't be blamin' that disco shit on the 60's ...the 60' rocked man...the 60's were soooo coooool...the 60' were...ok, so i don't remember most of the 60's but disco definitely ain't our fault...

Arnold Palmer is the reason golf became what it is today.:) He will be missed. All great athletes fade away:(

Yeah Tiger!!!

I watched the last part of the tournament. He is just so awesome! It just looked like the rest of the field just gave up.

Everyone gets older, and soon their season ends. But Arnold Palmer ahs alwaays had a lot of dignity. He still has a lot of poise. He has never said a mean word about anyone. He just got out there and let his game speak for him. That is the way it is supposed to be. He will be missed.

<mumbling >Let's see... nine zeros, dollar sign, more money than I can comprehend... <tallies it all up> ONE BILLION DOLLARS? For hitting a ball into a hole? What the fuck has this world come to? I'm thoroughly disgusted. I hope he's the LAST to receive that kind of gross overpayment for being good at doing something that figures in no way at all into the overall scheme of things.

Have I said I was thoroughly disgusted yet? Because I am.

It's just a game.

Hey, Busty.....

"for being good at doing something that figures in no way at all into the overall scheme of things. "

What is in the "overall scheme of things?"

I could never claim to have the positive/affirmative answer to that question, but I sure as hell can tell you it isn't the worship of sports and sports stars. I'd like to think life is about more than that. I'm all up for having fun, but sports have gone too far. The exhorbitant amounts of money involved take any sense of fun out of it for me.

As if they deserve to outgross the income of small countries because they can hit/catch/fling/whatever a ball.

Busty.......

We, not you included, but we the people who enjoy sports do pay each of them. The government isn't paying the bill as it was in the communist countries years ago. Why would you care how much Tiger or Michael or any other person makes if you are not paying the bill!

Hm, you've got me cornered there. I was going to say that people should put more money into worthwhile causes like supporting our schools or funding organizations that need donations to stay afloat -- but I don't make those contributions, either. Granted, I'm in college and am not making the kind of money necessary to be able to pick and choose where most of it goes to, but I would really sound like a prick if I were to say that others should put up their hard-earned money towards other causes when I myself don't do it, lol. So I guess all I can say is...

Touche. :)

There is nothing wrong.......

.....with your inabilty to contribute to the thing you love and support now based on financial situations! Love and support them with other talents that you have!

I will be your chearleader when you sign a contract for $40 million for producing "Your Hearts Desire"!
