This just in from John Kerry:

She are a interlectual ya know?

At least she has the guts to say what many of the Democrats believe in their hearts. Hillary had high ranking officers serving coffee in the White House. She know's the militarys role in the world.

Without dignifying that, the central point is that Kerry, while not nearly as adept at the sliming and smearing that passes for politics in your country as some, is not so politically retarded as to say something that anti-military before the election. You can think him the lowest scum in the world if you want but that would just be a case of jaw dropping idiocy.

His refusal to apologize, I think, further illustrates what he was saying.
I don't think that Kerry dislikes the military, though a case can be built through some of his statements, that he has no respect for the military.

However, in this instance, it was a clear fuckup.
I'm sure it was meant as a joke.... he should have rectified that immediately, but he didn't, he just dug a deeper hole for himself.

Look what happened to Trent Lott, when he made a joke about about Strom Thurmond.........everyone knew he was joking around, but he lost his job over it.

The piper must always be paid.

...and the Democrats never attack when Bush says something stupid? I realize it's a never-ending attack because Bush can't say his own name without making a mistake, but it's disingenuous to imply that only Republicans attack when the other side makes a misstatement.

They do, but it doesn't have the same effect because Democrats don't have the equivalent of the Fox/Drudge/talk radio industrial complex promoting these "misstatements" around the clock. Hell, Bush has been out there saying a vote for the Democrats is a vote for the terrorists, which you would think crosses the line of decency. But no one even pays attention to this sort of thing from Bush anymore, let alone makes it the lead story of the day.

NPR, PBS, etc.

If they have their way and pass the Fair Doctrine it'll be back to square one. And they have the gall to call Conservatives Facists.

What the hell would you, the republicans, and especially President Bush know about taking responsibility? All this administration and it's cheerleaders have done is point fingers at everyone else.

Recall that Bush campaigned on "the era of personal responsibility." It looks like what he meant was that the Democrats are people, and everything is their responsbility.

CNN ran the Kerry story all day yesterday complete with Bush spin. Nice try, alt.

This thread smells of desperation from the Republicans

It's far from a guarantee that the Dems are going to pick up even one of the houses, let alone both. Stick to the issues and let the chips fall where they may, Conservatives.

Eh, they need something to get on the major news shows with since to those outlets the economy doesn't exist which would be the big winner in the issue department.

Be that as it may, turning a non-story like this into an issue is disgraceful. And it's not working. Most of the people of spoken to, even those who believe Kerry meant to insult the US troops, don't see what it has to do with the local elections to the house and senate. Kerry means nothing to them, one way or the other.

Good question. I personally would have a problem with asking men and women to die for a mistake, but I also don't want to pull out prematurely.
Is Iraq the only war we have made a mistake on?

right, just as the continuing kicking of Foley was part of the dems spin machine. kerry doesnt have a snowballs chance in hell of getting elected. tell me how he represents the values of the common man. he is nothing more than a multi-millionaire whiteguy. and he still stuck his own dick in his mouth.

I guess Kerry has taken the limelight off of Rush Limbaugh's idiotic statement. Cept that was clearly not a mangle worded joke.
