This just in from John Kerry:

She are a interlectual ya know?

At least she has the guts to say what many of the Democrats believe in their hearts. Hillary had high ranking officers serving coffee in the White House. She know's the militarys role in the world.

"But, Ron, those are 'our' jets now..."

Amen bro...

Pass da plate!

What? I didn't respond to you. I responded to OC, who said there wasn't a war on when Lincoln was of service age(there was and he served in it) and then to Cap'n when he suggested that Lincoln would have done anything of note.

He could have served during the Mexican-American war. ;) Though he was busy in Congress being all anti-war guy.

For being such an intellectual she conveniently fails to grasp that a violated cease-fire agreement is enough to justify a reengagement of war.

At 37 it'd have been a stretch.

In her world, if the US would just disappear from the face of the earth there would be no war. We'd all live in a workers paradise filled with milk and honey.

Hey, I doubt she is stupid enough to think that since its been apparent throughout the history of a civilized human race that war is a matter of course.

But intellectuals were never in charge of the 'workers paradise.' Reality is only who the boss is today.

Yes, that mythical workers paradise where everyone works for the intellectuals and their political party...

Yeah, but of the three mentioned he had the only opportunities.

One of which, as was mentioned, he took.

But if you're going to count the Mexican American war as being one of those opportunities(When he was 37) then Roosevelt was 36 for WW1. Wilson, if he'd had a real bug up his but, certainly could have played an active role in military campaigns against Natives in the 1870's as well.

FDR was an Assistant Sec of Navy during that time so that could be construed as service of some sort.

Either way, I think it's too old.

Definitely on the border for sure but he "could" have served if he felt the urge too. Doesn't say anything either way about their character though.

You mean like the war in Iraq - but that didn't work.

Then he went for economy - but that didn't work.

Then he went back to that staple of republican fear - gay marriage - and that isn't working.

So you think Kerry will motivate the republican base? LOL, sure it will.

A Kerry spokeswoman, Amy Brundage, said Kerry’s prepared text had called for him to say: “Do you know where you end up if you don’t study, if you aren’t smart, if you’re intellectually lazy? You end up getting us stuck in a war in Iraq. Just ask President Bush.”

When Bush goes off-script, Republicans cringe. When Kerry goes off-script, Republicans attack. Neither reflex will help them at this point.

I see the back benchers

They of the scraming MANTRA

Why wont anyone take responsibility for what they say and do?

Refuse to have Kerry take responsibility for FUCKING UP, again

He has gone to an undisclosed location!

Harold Ford to Kerry

APOLIGIZE

Don IMUS.......STFU and go the fuck away!

TN Harold Ford asks Kerry to apologize...

VIDEO: IMUS TO KERRY: 'Please stop it. Stop talking. Go home, get on the bike'...

Some people see Kerry for the LOSER and LOOSE canon he is!

What the hell would you, the republicans, and especially President Bush know about taking responsibility? All this administration and it's cheerleaders have done is point fingers at everyone else.

What a silly thing to say, Ishmael. Even you can do better than that.

What's silly is Ish didn't say it. ;)

Play that record backwards.

The devil is in the details.

...and the Democrats never attack when Bush says something stupid? I realize it's a never-ending attack because Bush can't say his own name without making a mistake, but it's disingenuous to imply that only Republicans attack when the other side makes a misstatement.

Right after you cite the long and distinguished military histories of Abraham Lincoln, Woodrow Wilson, and Franklin D. Roosevelt. :)

Ishmael

Lincoln served as a Captain in the Illinois Militia during the Black Hawk War 0f 1832.

It may not have been a distinguished service record, but he did volunteer.

If he seeks the presidency again his opponents within his own party are going to beat him unmercifully with those words.

Ishmael
If Bush could run for a third term, the same thing would happen to him.
