Ladies... is it bad to have a period every 2 weeks instead of once a month? Like clockwork, for the last 2-3 months? Heavier than normal.

Licky

More than likely it's stress

If it continues much longer.. talk to your dr.

but no it's not "bad" (just not good either)

What they said. Its not really disgusting though, just a pain in the ass sometimes. Men are silly. The doc is going to ask what's different in your life. So what's up? None of my business but you should figure that out -- if anything is. Are you spotting a bit between periods too?

I haven't been to a doctor in over a year.. I finally made an appointment with someone I hope I'll like. My list of problems is growing ever so large, the poor doctor will probably have a stroke from the stress.

Yeah I figured it was from stress. But I also wondered if this was a 'normal' thing for some women, as in it always happens.

Last time I had it happen I was on Depo and it was due to estrogen depletion. I haven't been on Depo in 5+ years.

Stress is a very high probability although if you have recently come into a situation where you are in contact with another female or females on a regular basis your cycle will adjust until you all cycle together.

Just another possibility. Hope it ends soon, it gotta really suck.

How long as it been going on this time?

what form of BC are you on now?

what other things are happening?

pm me if you prefer

Juicy, good gawd girl, please say that's really you in your av. *drool*

Stress? HA! I laugh in the face of stress!

Um, got a couple of hours? (hehe)

my employers are driving me insane, and there is a conspiracy to drive all us veterans out.

my mom died.

my dad is going to be dependant on someone, and it's gonna be me.

my body is going wacky on me and i'm pissed, i'm only 25!

bills need to be paid, kitchen needs stocking, kids need summer clothes, this tutoring school is gonna take $$$...

i'm lonely as fuck. :(

Get back I saw her first.

Lonely as Fuck you say?

hmmmmm

No BC cuz I'm not having sex. Can't get pregnant from a vibe!

I was thinking of taking BC pills just to regulate, but I'm absolutely horrid with remembering to take them. I heard there is a new BC shot, made of the same stuff as the pill. Get shot up once a month... it's NOT Depo.

<edit> oops, forgot to add. My cycle is normally a 21 days... but now 2 weeks after, I start spotting.. and this week it went from spotting to HEAVY.

come live with me

We can find you a job here

*hugs* I can't replace your mom, but you can share mine

don't let your dad become dependent on you (ok, easier said than done)

I'd offer to pay your bills.. but I'm broke too because I went grocery shopping, I have lots of girls clothing the kids can share, and we can homeschool..

We can keep each other company

*hugs* :rose:

period stuff

I have had problems with my period for years.
I started my period when I was 11, and was regular as could be 281/2 days, to the frickin hour!
but, when I got to be about 15 I started doing just what you are doing, spotting early and then getting heavier, until I was bleeding non-stop for about 6 months (this is about as awful as you can imagine!).
At this point I went to an ObGYN and was put on BC for 3 months.
When I got off the BC I didn't have a period for about 5 months (this was cool, but scary!) and then repeated the process.
The doctors continue to be baffled, and cannot find a treatment/cure - though they call it 'dysmennorrhea' which literally means disfunction of female cycle (so they tell me)
so, hey - it happens to a lot of women so I hear, but I'd say, see the doctor, do what they say, hope it quits and if it doesn't - pray. ;)
GOOD LUCK!

Here's my deal. I don't know why I'm talking about all this crap.

Started when I was 13.

After I had my 2nd baby (at 18) I went on Depo.

Year one.. periods normal.

Year two.. NO periods, ever. Not even spotting. This was awesome.

Year three.. One long heavy nasty period ALL year long. A little day or two break every few months, but for the most part.. non-stop.

Had enough, went to doc.. decided Depo depleted my estrogen to nil. She decided if I was going to stay on BC, it would be the pill w/ high estrogen level. Wasn't enough, had to take a supplimental estrogen pill. As stated before, I'm awful with pills... so I quit both. Didn't matter, stopped having sex with the asshole anyways.

So, I haven't been on BC for about 3-4 years now, periods have been fairly 'normal'.. 21 day cycle.. until the last couple of months. But I've been under immense stress (what else is new) and have gained too much weight (unexplainably).

Ima whiner, ignore me  :)

i used to have this same problem about 4 years ago. they found out i had a cyst on one of my ovaries. A course of medication for 3 weeks did the trick.

hope it is nothing serious with you. try to spend a little more "me, myself and I" time :)

Halo :rose:

yes it is :D and everyone here is very sweet lol. Lickerish, LadyFyre seems to know what she's talking about.

:D I really didn't mean to start a fight with my av. Though I do have others. Perhaps I could spend some time with everyone! lol! :D

You're really young for this, but your symptoms also describe perimenopause. It isn't impossible, but unlikely I think as an explanation. If you have an appointment with the doc set up, that's a good time to take your history with you and let him/her figure it out with you.

Definitely an option, my mom went through it when she was like 35.. her sister also went through it fairly early (40's).

Question. If one goes through menopause, does that mean no more kids?

You're not a whiner, it's a perfectly valid concern. Look at all the good advice you got, that you would not have if you hadn't "whined". :)

I know  I just feel like I do tho.

That av of yours is very nice CarolineOh

Yes, menopause means no more kids. That is, unless you decide you want to use a surrogate mother -- but from the sound of things, you might not be able to afford that for a little while. Expensive stuff, that is.

I really hope everything works out for you, reading this thread has me really worried about you. :( Definitely see a doctor about your period problems, and maybe a counselor/psychiatrist of some sort to deal with the stress in your life? I know there's a stigma around seeing someone for your problems, but I just got over that myself and it's really helping. It feels great to talk to someone about everything going on in your life and having them be able to help you find ways to deal with it so you feel better and are much more healthy.

Best of luck you you, licky.

BCP

I keep my BCP's by the computer, and it has really helped me remember to take them everyday. It's probably because I am ALWAYS here for a little while everyday.

I take BCP's just to regulate my period and keep them light - my husband's fixed.

hope that helps!
