I assume yoy've found the pic somewhere on the 'net?
Right click on it, and depending on the browser you're running, you'll have an option labeled "copy image location" or just "properties". For the latter, you'll then have to copy the resulting URL.
Then go to Lit, Post Reply, and click on the IMG button. Paste the URL address into it, and that should be it.
Note: Some sites monitor their images, and others simply disable sharing, so its not always possible to do this. If you've encountered such a site, then you'll simply have a whole lot of nothing show up, much as you've experienced thus far.
Don't give up, try images from a few different sites before you simply chalk it up to your own failure.

The IMG tags don't work with web pages. They only work with IMAGES.

The URL you use with the IMG tag must end with .JPG, .BMP, .GIF, etc.

I changed some of the the square brackets in the quote to show what you were trying to post, and below to show what the URL of the image on that page is. With the square bracket restored, the image displays. Et Voila!
