This is a Guy that tried to kill My DAD

I don't recall him say anything about assassination, I know I did. What kind of mandate? Would you accept any proof presented by his administration that show Saddam has intent or is providing a hiding place for the terroists? Don't get me wrong I agree with you but I'm wondering how will we know? I remember the Cuban Missile crisis and what was presented to us by then President Kennedy, whould something like that work nowadays?

destroy his weapons of mass destruction, once i convinced all my allies that was actually the case. It's the determination to act w/out mandate and the intent to assassinate saddam that makes me disagree w/bush.

If the Security Council voted to go in with a full on military force that included a plan to rebuild Iraq after the war then that would be enough evidence for me.

Hmmm, i can't speak much to the cuban missile crisis because it happened before i was born and what i studied of it i have largely forgotten. I will say this, however, I would feel much better about it if western european nations like france who usually support us weren't so skeptical. That, and the fact that this whole crusade seemed to take off conveniently after the 9/11 attacks. It just smells too much like finding an enemy to go after when you're itching to pull the trigger. Blair has fallen in line behind Bush and that makes me feel a little better but, frankly, i want to see someone besides england support us, i mean they are our most staunch ally on the planet. Even canada is less friendly with us than they are.

How about giving me a history lesson on what evidence kennedy gave regarding cuba.

Again, no

YES! I would go with that too AZ. Our Prime Minister has already pledged combat troops to join a multi national strike force. But a unilateral strike? Nope. That is just grandstanding on the part of one man.

in fairness, i should say that my assertion that Bush wants to assassinate saddam is my interpretation of facts. Bush has not explicitly said that's what he wants to do.

What a day that was!

Fanzee1: Well it was day that I will remember as the day we "all Americans" thought well here's doomsday.
First thing was the networks said the President was going to make an important address to the nation of vital importance.
A couple of hours later it was changed to vital importance to urgent attention to all Americans
Then President Kennedy came on and told us that cuba had missiles armed at the US, he said that the U.S.S.R. had given them to Cuba. He then on national TV proceeded to show us photo's taken by U-2's "no longer a top secret plane thinks to F.G.Powers getting shot down by the U.S.S.R. earlier. The photo's were top secret and it was at the time very unusual to see a photo from that high and it was so clear there were missiles there. He then procced to tell us he was going to blockade all traffic into Cuba from anywhere, that all ships would be stopped and searched before they would be allowed to enter the waters of Cuba. Also he said that any attack from anywhere "Meaning Cuba" would be considered an attack on the US by the U.S.S.R. and responded to with the full force of the US military. Or as we thought at the time, the end of the world. Thank God it didn't happen. Does that help you

Sez Bush.

So finally, the real reason he wants to attack Saddam.

Did anyone actually ever think there was any other motive?
