My shooting hand isn't bound up in a cast so I can shoot the ol 45 ruger and the desert eagle 44 for a bit. Might be fun, even in the rain. Making up some targets right now. Really cool ones with certain nicks on them.

Got to lower the stress level a bit i'm thinking:D

happiness is a warm gun.

and i don't care what they really meant when they said it, taken literally, it still works.

I'd love to go shooting. I'd like to shoot some stuff. That would be fun. Yeah.

I'm dead serious. It might make me feel a lot better.

another year and i'll be able to do that up here in AK.

i just don't get how i could run around with a SAW for the government (that's a "squad automatic weapon," most often the M249 seen here M249 SAW) and learn how to kill lots of people for Uncle Sam, but i can't own a gawddamn gun of my own until i'm 21 most places!

that's fucked up.

superlittlegirl, if you ever get up my way I'll take you out shooting as much as your heart desires.:)

scylis: believe me I understand what you mean man. I spent time in the army and could go out and die for my country, not drink alcohol, not own a handgun (legally) or a few other things until the magic age of 21. something wrong with that picture for sure.

Yep, gotta sight in the ol' M-21 system..

Some things you used to do can't be left alone! You never know if you'll need the expertise, if more people were armed in Maryland, I bet that sick fuck would be dead by now. They ought to consider using counter-sniping measures, I'm sure they got a trajectory profile on him/her. My target pasties are out of the latest news magazine, it's all they're good for!
Peace through Superior Firepower, and BLU-82!

Uh, oh.

I hope you're in your "happy place" before you start shooting.:)

LOL!!! That reminded me of Stewart on MadTV..."I'm in my dark place...hissss"

Yes give every arsehole with a grudge a gun, espically those with Army training who can hit lots of people from a distance and there will never be another shooting

Now you have hit the nail on the head. Good for you Unregistered. Every arsehole does have a gun, an unregistered gun. Unfortunatley the law abiding citizen has to suffer for them arseholes. Some of the ppl posting in this thread enjoy shooting, nothing wrong with that, its fun and relaxing for some ppl. I to have had that training your talking about, not by the Army tho. I shoot regularly, almost every day.
There is a certain street where I live and I can buy any kind of a weapon I choose to pay for. No paperwork, No background checks, they are probably the lowest part of a human you can be.
But, everyone does have the right to own a gun, its just like everything else some ppl abuse the right they have.
Ok, I've ranted enough....

Enjoy your shooting, be safe, and don't forget to clean up your shell casing. You might want to get into reloading ya know.

intrigued

I'm always in my happy place when i go to the range. It relieves tension in a real nice way.

by the by just returned. Had a great time. there were some state troopers out shooting and we had a little contest.

I had to turn down a job offer.

Actually, in your particular case it's a very sane idea.

Wow, I'm impressed.:) I'd love to learn how to fire anything at all...I think its something challenging, and I am very much into protecting myself.

I was always pretty good at darts, think maybe that will help me?:)

I went to the indoor pistol range last night.

It was Zen-like. I came home without a care in the world and gunpowder cologne.

I think I'm gonna get the shady .380 nickle plated. I love that gun. It only has a 1-1/2 inch barrel so it really spits flame. Not to accurate past twenty feet, but at under twenty feet it is a dream, and with that pre-ban 13 shot clip and speedy action. It can really ventilate your chest.

Thats a good start, gives you hand to eye coordination.
Wish you were u here, I would take you out to the range and show you some things on shooting. GUNS that is.

Since you seem to be pretty good, I wouldn't mind placing myself in your hands. :)
Does this thought...intrigued in your hands, toting a gun...scare you any?:D

Oh honey, it causes me to have shivers. In a real good way. i can put my arms around you and help yo to aim the weapon at the target. Then as you squeeze of the first shot...

There is a range and club nearby where I do most of my shooting on a competive basis. A close neighbor has a backyard range for more casual shooting.

But my specialty is 500 meters plus and ranges with those facilities are few and far between east of the Miss. river.

I found two places in N. Central FL. that allow me the luxury of my shooting preference. One is a powerline right-of-way. I marked it out to 1000 meters. The other is an old ladies farm. She grows watermelons and each year I go up and thin out the coyote's for her. It seems the critters love watermelon's. A few coyote's can go through the better part of an acre in a night. Just take one bite out each melon.
